THE CONTINGENCY FUND OF THE NATIONAL CAPITAL TERRITORY OF DELHI (AMENDMENT) BILL
2018
A Bill to amend the Contingency Fund of the National Capital Territory of Delhi Act, 1994.
No. 21 (43)/Conti. F/2018/LAS. VI/Leg./4189.—Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the National Capital
Territory of Delhi in the Sixty Ninth year of the Republic of India as follows:-
1.
Short title and commencement. – (1) This Act may be called the Contingency Fund of the National Capital
Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Act, 2018.
(2)
It shall come into force at once.
2.
Amendment of Section 2. – In the Contingency Fund of the National Capital Territory of Delhi Act, 1994,
(Delhi Act No.13 of 1994), in section 2, for the words “a sum of rupees ten crores”, the words “a sum of rupees one
hundred crore” shall be substituted.
FINANCIAL MEMORANDUM
The Bill provide for Amendment of section 2 of Contingency Fund of the National Capital Territory of Delhi
Act, 1994 (Delhi Act No. 13 of 1994), in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 47 of the Government of National
Capital Territory of Delhi Act, 1991 (No. 1 of 1992) enhancing the corpus of the fund from rupees ten crore to rupees
one hundred crore. The enhancement of corpus would not entail any additional burden on exchequer.

STATEMENT OF OBJECT AND REASONS
The Bill provides for amendment of section 2 of the Contingency Fund of the National Capital Territory of
Delhi Act, 1994 (Delhi Act No.13 of 1994), in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 47 of the Government of National
Capital Territory of Delhi Act, 1991 (No.1 of 1992) enhancing the corpus of the Fund from rupees ten crore to rupees
one hundred crore, as the existing corpus is not sufficient to meet out the demands of fund in emergent cases.
The Bill seeks to achieve the above objectives.
MEMORANDUM REGARDING DELEGATED LEGISLATION
The Contingency Fund of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2018 does not seek to
confer any additional rule making power in the bill.
