NOTIFICATION

Delhi, the 30th August, 2019

No. MLO/VIU/TPT/2017/221/1780.—Whereas the draft rules further to amend Delhi Motor

Vehicles Rules,1993, were published as required in exercise of powers given under rule 81 of the Central

Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989 by Central Government vide notification dated 21.03.2017, G.S.R. 271(E),

clause 2(i) and sub-section (1) of section 212 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1998 (19 of 1998), vide

notification No. MLO/VIU//Tpt./2017/221/1740, dated the 26th August, 2019 in the Delhi Gazette,

Extraordinary, inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby, before

expiry of the period of three days from the date on which copies of the Delhi Gazette containing the said

notification were made available to public.

And whereas, copies of the said Gazette notification were made available to the public on the

26^th August, 2019,

And whereas, the objections and suggestions received from the public in respect of the said draft

rules are nil,

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers under rule 81 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989

conferred by Central Government vide notification dated 21.03.2017, G.S.R. 271(E), clause 2(i), and

sub-section (1) of section 212 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1998 (19 of 1998), the following rules are made to

amend the Delhi Motor Vehicles Rules, 1993, namely:

RULES

1. Short Title and Commencement

(1) These rules will be called the Delhi Motor Vehicles

(Amendment) Rules, 2019.

(2) They shall come into force w.e.f. 1^st September, 2019.

2. Amendment in Rule 59

In the Delhi Motor Vehicles Rules, 1993, in rule 59, against the

item (a) in the table regarding issue of renewal of permit of an

auto-rickshaw, for figure and words Rs.1000/- (rupees one

thousand), the figure and words Rs. 500/- (rupees five hundred)

shall be substituted,

3. Insertion of new rule 59 (A)

In the said rules, after rule 59, the following shall be inserted,

namely :-

Rule 59 (A). fees to be paid in respect of fitness, registration, transfer of ownership, penalty and hire

purchase addition for auto-rickshaw shall be as under:-
