NOTIFICATION

Delhi, the 3rd October, 2019

No. F. 1/28/2019/HG/5840-5852.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8 of the Bombay

Home Guards Act, 1947, as extended to the National Capital Territory of Delhi, the Lt. Governor of

National Capital Territory of Delhi, hereby makes the following rules to further amend the Delhi Home

Guards Rules, 1959, namely :—

1. Short title and commencement.—(1) These rules may be called the Delhi Home Guards (Third

Amendment) Rules, 2019.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Delhi Gazette.

2. Amendment of rule 8 – In the Delhi Home Guard Rules, 1959, in rule 8, after the seventh proviso, the

following proviso shall be inserted, namely :—

“provided also that, in order to meet short term requirements of Home Guard Volunteers in emergent

situation, Government may allow appointment of Home Guard Volunteers from the existing pool of

Ex-Home Guard Volunteers only, who had served for more than two years and otherwise fit to be

enrolled as per existing criteria.”
