“ELECTION COMMISSION OF INDIA

NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 10th January, 2020

No. 52/2020/SDR/VOL-1.—In continuation of the Notification of even number, dated

8^th January, 2020 under the provisions of clause (c) of Section-60 of the Representation of the People

Act, 1951, on due consideration of the matter and in consultation with the Central Government, the

Commission hereby notifies that the persons employed in the following essential services:

(i)

Delhi Metro,

(ii)

Northern Railway Transportation (Passenger & Freight) Services and

(iii) Media persons for whom authority letters have been issued with the approval of the

Commission for covering the poll day activities, in the NCT of Delhi,

who on account of being on duty on the day of poll in the current general election to

Legislative Assembly of NCT of Delhi scheduled to be notified on 14-01-2020 will not be able to be

present in their respective polling station, as a class of persons to give vote by postal ballot in the said

general election as per the provisions of Part-IIIA of the Conduct of Elections Rules, 1961, as

amended vide Ministry of Law & Justice, Govt. of India, Notification, S.O. No. 3786(E), dated

22^nd October, 2019, and directions and guidelines issued by the Commission in this behalf.
