WELFARE OF SCHEDULED CASTES & BACKWARD CLASSES DEPARTMENT

Notification

The 8th June, 2018

No. 869-SW(1)-2018.— The Governor of Haryana is pleased to make the following amendments in the

Notification No. 1082-SW(1)-2017 dated 06.11.2017 vide which Haryana State Commission for Safai Karamcharis

was constituted. In clause 1(a) of the Notification No. 1082-SW(1)-2017 dated 06.11.2017 the following clause shall

be substituted namely:-

Constitution of the Commission:

(a) The Commission shall consist of total of Seven members including the Chairperson and

Vice-Chairperson.

The Chairperson shall be an eminent person belonging to Balmiki Samaj engaged in socio-economic

development and welfare of Safai Karamcharis having wide experience in social life.

The Vice-Chairperson shall be an eminent person belonging to Balmiki Samaj. In the absence of the

Chairperson, the Vice-Chairperson shall preside over the meeting of the Commission.

Not more than Five non official members belonging to Balmiki Samaj may be appointed by the

Government from amongst the persons of ability, integrity and standing having special knowledge in

matter relating to the Safai Karamcharis.

Provided further that one out of the Five non-official members of the Commission shall be a

woman.
