No. Leg.32/2018.— The following Act of the Legislature of the State of Haryana received

the assent of the Governor of Haryana on the 27th September, 2018 and is hereby published for

general information:-

HARYANA ACT NO. 27 OF 2018

THE HARYANA MUNICIPAL CITIZENS’ PARTICIPATION (AMENDMENT)

ACT, 2018

AN

ACT

further to amend the Haryana Municipal Citizens’ Participation Act. 2008.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Haryana in the Sixty-ninth Year of the

Republic of India as follows:-

1.

This Act may be called the Haryana Municipal Citizens’ Participation (Amendment)

Act, 2018.

Short title.

In clause (b) of sub-section (2) of section 11 of the Haryana Municipal Citizens’

Participation Act, 2008,-

(i)

in the third proviso, for the sign “.” existing at the end, the sign “:” shall be

substituted;

(ii)

after the third proviso, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:-

“Provided further that when any local area/gram panchayat is merged into a

municipality, the incumbents of the offices of Panches and Sarpanch at the time of

merger shall act as the ward committee for the geographical area so merged till

such time as the next elections to that municipality are held or till the term of the

erstwhile gram panchayat would have lasted, whichever is earlier.”.
