BAR COUNCIL OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA CHANDIGARH

Notification

The 28th January, 2019

No. BCPH/Election/903-907/2019.— In compliance of order dated 22.1.2019, passed by the Hon’ble

Supreme Court of India, in IA No. 7292/2019 & IA No. 7285/19 in Transferred Case (Civil) No(s). 126/2015 titled as

AJAYINDER SANGWAN & ORS V/s BAR COUNCIL OF DELHI and others, various complaints received from

the Bar Council of India, were placed before Election Tribunal of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana, for

disposal. The Election Tribunal of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana has disposed of all the pending complaints

and directed to get the result declared by the Secretary-cum-Returning Officer, be published in the official gazette, in

pursuance provision of Rule 33 of the Bar Council of Punjab & Haryana Election Rules, 1968,(amended upto March,

2013) framed by the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana under Section 15(2) and (d) of the Advocates Act, 1961 and

approved by the Bar Council of India.

The following twenty five candidates were declared elected as Members of the Bar Council of Punjab

and Haryana under Section 3(2) of the said Act, by the Secretary-cum-Returning Officer on 6.12.2018, which

was duly verified by the Advocate General, Haryana on 10.12.2018 and also countersigned by the Hon’ble

Mr. Justice Nirmal Singh (Retd) Observer, Bar Council Election .
