No. Elec-2019/IR-II/PSCE/Hol/31294.— Whereas the General Election to Legislative Assemblies of Haryana

and Maharashtra-2019 shall be held on 21-10-2019 (Monday) as per letter of the Election Commission of India

letter No.78/EPS/2019 dated 30.09.2019 read with Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana letter no. 108/Paid Holiday/

Nirwachan-2019/2AE 11794-A dated 02.10.2019.

And whereas, it is considered necessary to provide opportunity to those who are working in the State of

Haryana and enrolled as voter in the State of Haryana and Maharashtra to exercise their franchise.

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the second proviso of sub-section (I) of section 10 of

the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958 (Punjab Act 15 of 1958) and all other powers enabling

him in this behalf, the Governor of Haryana hereby fixes 21.10.19 (Monday) to be a close day (Holiday with wages)

for all Shops and Commercial Establishments falling within the jurisdiction area of the State of Haryana only for their

employees who are enrolled as voters in the State of Haryana and State of Maharashtra to enable them to exercise

their franchise.
