Notification

The 31st January, 2023

No. 4/02/2023-2CI.— The following draft of the rules further to amend the Haryana Municipal Election

Rules, 1978, which the Governor of Haryana in constitution with the State Election Commission proposes to make in

exercise of the powers conferred by clauses (c) to (g) of sub-section (1), sub-sections (2), (4) and (7) of section 257

and section 276 of the Haryana Municipal Act, 1973 (24 of 1973), is hereby published as required by sub-section (5)

of section 257 of the said Act, for the information of persons likely to be affected thereby.

Notice is hereby given that the draft of the rules shall be taken into consideration by the Government on or

after the expiry of a period of ten days from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette together

with objections or suggestions, if any, which may be received by the Additional Chief Secretary to Government,

Haryana, Urban Local Bodies Department, Chandigarh from any person in respect of the draft of the rules before the

expiry of the period so specified.

DRAFT RULES

1.

These rules may be called the Haryana Municipal Election (Amendment) Rules, 2023.

2.

In the Haryana Municipal Election Rules, 1978, in rule 72A, in the proviso to sub-rule (3), for the words “date

on which the election of the Vice-President was notified”, the words “date of election of the Vice-President” shall be

substituted.
