Amendment Notification

The 28th July, 2023

No. 5/18/2018-3PH.— The Reuse of Waste Water Policy-2019 as notified vide Government notification

No. 5/18/2018-3PH dated 30.10.2019 and published on 05.11.2019 wherein clause 8.1.1.1 is hereby substituted as

under:-

As per notification of

Ministry of Power

(Government of India), under clause 6.2(5) of their

Tariff Policy dated 28.01.2026 has stipulated that

the Thermal Power Plants located within 50 Km

radius of sewage treatment plant of Municipality /

Local Bodies / similar organization shall in order of

their closeness to the sewage treatment plants,

mandatory use treated sewage water produce by

these bodies and the associated cost on this account

shall be allowed as a pass through in the tariff.

Therefore, it shall be mandatory for all Thermal

Power Plants within a 50km radius of the STP or

city limits to use TWW.

That the Thermal Power Plants located within 60

Km radius of sewage treatment plant of

municipality / local bodies / similar organization

shall in order of their closeness to the sewage

treatment plants, mandatorily use treated sewage

water produced by these bodies and the associated

cost on this account shall be allowed `as a pass

through in the tariff. Therefore, it shall be

mandatory for all Thermal Power Plants within a

60 km radius of the STP or city limits or nearest

available source to use TWW.
