Notification

Regulation No. HERC/29/2014/3rd Amendment/2023.— The Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission,

in exercise of the powers conferred under sub-Section 2 (t, v) of Section 181 read with Section 43, 46 & 47 of the

Electricity Act 2003 and all other powers enabling it in this behalf, after previous publication, makes the following

regulations:

Short title, Commencement and Interpretation:

1.1.

These Regulations shall become the part of the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission (Electricity

Supply Code) Regulations, 2014. (3rd Amendment) Regulations, 2023.

1.2.

This amendment shall come into force with effect from the date of their publication in the Haryana

Government Gazette.

2.

The following para shall be added below the clause 4.4.1(5)

―That facility of electricity connection may be provided to those who are residing in un-authorized

colonies / Slums without insisting on ownership / legal occupancy proof;

Provided further, release of electricity connection shall not in any way confer upon the consumer any

lawful ownership/legal occupancy rights on the property. The connection has been released and meter has been

installed with a clear understanding that it is solely for the purpose of meter reading to ensure generation of

bill as per consumption and does not create any ownership/ legal occupancy rights over the property.‖
