Shimla-171002, the 12th, May, 2011

No EXN-F(10)2/2004.—In exercise of the powers conferred under section 22 of the

Himachal Pradesh Passengers and Goods Taxation Act, 1955 (Act. No. 15 of 1955), the Governor,

Himachal Pradesh proposes to make the following rules further to amend the Himachal Pradesh

Passengers and Goods Taxation Rules, 1957 notified vide Government Notification No.R.102-

23/53, dated 5th April, 1957 and published in the Rajpatra, Himachal Pradesh dated 18th May,

1957 and the same are hereby published in the Rajpatra, Himachal Pradesh (Extra-ordinary) for the

information of the persons likely to be affected thereby.

Any interested person who has any objection(s)/suggestion(s) with regard to the proposed

amendments, he may send the same in writing to the Excise and Taxation Commissioner, Himachal

Pradesh, Shimla-171009 within a period of 30 days from the date of publication of the said draft

rules in the Rajpatra, Himachal Pradesh.

The objection(s)/suggestion(s), if any, received within the above stipulated period shall be

considered by the Government before the finalization of the said draft rules, namely:-

DRAFT RULES

Short title.—These rules may be called the Himachal Pradesh Passengers and Goods

Taxation (Amendment) Rules, 2011.

Amendment of Rules 9.—In rule 9 of the Himachal Pradesh Passengers and Goods

Taxation Rules, 1957, in sub-rule (8), in clause (a), for sub-clause (ii), the following shall be

substituted, namely:-

“(ii) Taxi Car or Jeep having seats upto six (excluding driver);-

(a) Cars/Vehicles upto 1000CC

Rs.1350/-PA.

(b) Cars/Vehicles above 1000 CC and upto 1500 CC

Rs.2400/-PA

Rs.2800/-PA

election programme for the conduct of elections of all three tiers of Panchayati Raj Institutions of

Udaipur and Keylong Sub-Division of Lahaul & Spiti District, Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba District,

and for Zila Parishad constitutiencies of Sub-Division Spiti of Lahaul & Spiti Distt. of H.P. as under:—

Nomination papers shall be presented.— On 24th 25th and 26th May , 2011 (Between

11 am to 3 pm)Nomination papers for the offices of Gram Panchayat, Panchayat Samiti & Zila Parishad

shall be filed at the places and before the Officers appointed by the District Election Officers

(Panchayat).

The nomination papers shall be scrutinised.— On 27th May, 2011 (From 10.00 am

onwards).

A candidate may withdraw his candidature.— On 30th May,2011 (Before 3pm)

List of contesting candidates showing the name of symbol allotted to them shall be

prepared and affixed.—On 30th May, 2011 immediately after the time of withdrawal is over.

List of Polling stations shall be published.— On or before 24th May, 2011.

The Poll, if necessary, shall be held From 7.00 AM to 3 .00 P.M.—

Counting of votes, in the event of Poll, shall be done.— Counting of votes for Member,

Up- Pradhan and Pradhan of Gram Panchayats shall be taken up on the date of Poll immediately after

the close of the poll at the Gram Panchayat Headquarters.

Counting of votes for member of Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad shall be taken up on 14th

June, 2011 at 8.30 a.m. at respective Block H.Q. The counting once started shall continue until it is

completed.

Result of election shall be declared.— The result of the election of Member,Up-

Pradhan & Pradhan of Gram Panchayat shall be declared on the date of the poll immediately after the

counting is over. The result of election of Panchayat Samiti shall be declared on the day of counting at

the Block Headquarters immediately after the counting process is over. The result of election to Zila

Parishad shall be declared in accordance with the provisions contained in rule 75(VI) of the Himachal

Pradesh Panchayati Raj (Election) Rules, 1994.

Note.—The process of election shall be completed by 17.06.2011.
