Shimla, the 22nd February, 2013
No. HFW-B(A)3-2/2011.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 55 of the
Dentists Act,1948 (16 of 1948), the Governor, Himachal Pradesh is pleased to make the following
rules to amend the Himachal Pradesh Registration of Dentists, Dental Hygienists and Dental
Mechanics Rules, 2007 notified vide this Department notification No. HFW-B(A)2-18/2004, dated
27.6.2007 and published in the Rajpatra Himachal Pradesh dated 19-7-2007, namely:—
1. Short title.–These Rules may be called Himachal Pradesh Registration of Dentists,
Dental Hygienists and Dental Mechanics (Amendment) Rules, 2013.
2. Amendment of rule 7.– In rule 7 of the Himachal Pradesh Registration of Dentists,
Dental Hygienists and Dental Mechanics Rules, 2007 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules),–
(a) in sub-rule (1) for the word, figure and signs “ Rs.500/- ˝, the word, figure and signs
“Rs.2500/-˝, shall be substituted ;
(b) for sub-rule (2), the following shall be substituted, namely:–
“(2) Every registered dentist shall pay a renewal fee of Rs.1000/-per annum or
Rs.5,000/- for five years before the 1st day of April every year or after five years, as
the case may be”;.
(c) for sub-rule (4), the following shall be substituted, namely:–
“(4) (i) Every application for registration as dental hygienist/dental mechanic shall be
accompanied by fee of Rs.1000/- .
(ii) Every registered dental hygienist/dental mechanics shall pay a renewal fee of
Rs.500/-per annum or Rs.2500/- for five years before the 1st day of April every
year or after five years, as the case may be .
(iii) The Registrar shall restore the name of the person whose name was struck off due
to non-payment of renewal fee by the due date under sub-section (2) of section
39, on payment of sum of Rs.500/- per annum and upto – date payment of
renewal fee”.
(d) in sub- rule (5), for the word, figure and signs “ Rs.250/-”, the word, figure and signs “
Rs.500/-” shall be substituted ;
(e) in sub-rule (8), for the word, figure and signs “Rs.100/-”, the word, figure and signs
“ Rs.200/-”, shall be substituted and (f) after sub-rule (10), the following sub-rule (11)
shall be added, namely:–
“(11) A sum of Rs.1000/- shall be charged for issuing certificate of good standing”.
3. Amendment of rule-12.– For sub-rules(12),(13) and (14) of rule 12 of the said rules,
the following shall be substituted, namely:–

“(12) The Council with prior approval of the Government shall appoint suitable manpower
(Human Resources) through outsourcing. The Himachal Pradesh State Dental Council shall meet
the expenditure on this account from its own resources”.
