No. MPP-A(3)-2/2013-I.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 12 of the

Himachal Pradesh Electricity Distribution Management Responsibility Act, 2014 (Act. No 5 of

2015), the Governor of Himachal Pradesh is pleased to make the Himachal Pradesh Electricity

Distribution Management Responsibility Rules, 2016 for carrying out the provisions of the Act,

namely:—

1. Short title and commencement.—(1) These rules may be called the Himachal

Pradesh Electricity Distribution Management Responsibility Rules, 2016.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Rajpatra, Himachal

Pradesh.

2. Definitions.—(1) In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires;

(a) “Act”

means

the

Himachal

Pradesh

Electricity

Distribution

Management

Responsibility Act, 2014 ( Act No. 5 of 2015);

(b) “State Electricity Distribution Management Statement” means a statement which lays

down the policies and strategies of the State Government for achieving the Key

Performance Indicators for the ensuing year; and

(2) The words and expressions used herein but not defined in these rules shall have the

meanings assigned thereto under the Act or the Financial Restructuring Plan or the Electricity Act,

2003, and rules and regulations made there under.

3. State Electricity Distribution Management Statement.—State Distribution Licensee

shall prepare and submit information required as per the Distribution Management Statement in

form within sixty days after end of each quarter.

4. Measures to be taken by State Distribution Licensee.— State Distribution Licensee

shall take all the necessary measures for long term planning to achieve sustainability and the

necessary accounting measures as per requirements of sections 4,5, 6 and 8 of the Act.
