S.O. No. 67 Dated. 27^th September, 2018:- In exercise of the powers conferred

by the sub-section (2) of Section 10 of the Bihar Electricity Duty Act, 1948 (Bihar Act

XXXVI of 1948 as adopted by the state of Jharkhand and as amended by Jharkhand

Act No. 10, 2011), the Governor of Jharkhand is pleased to make the following

amendment in the Bihar Electricity Duty Rules, 1949, (as adopted by the State of

Jharkhand and as amended vide departmental notification no. S.O. 177 dated

08.10.2011) in the following manner:

Amendments

1. Short title, extent and commencement;

(i)

These Rules may be called The Jharkhand Electricity Duty (Amendment) Rules, 2018.

(ii)

It shall extend to the whole of the State of Jharkhand.

(iii)

This notification shall be deemed to be effective from the date of its publication in the

official gazette.

2. Amendments in Rule 11-

(i) Rule 11(b) shall be deleted.

(ii) Rule 11(c) shall be substituted in the following manner:-

“The duty shall be levied and paid by the licensees or the electricity traders on such

supply by then; not falling in sub rule (a).”
