कR Vदनांक 10 माच7, 2019, के ेस नोट सं#या ईसीआई/पीएन/23/2019; 13 माच7, 2019 के

ईसीआई/पीएन/26/2019 और 14 माच7, 2019 के ईसीआई/पीएन/28/2019 के वारा कर दN गई थी ;

और यतः, लोक 6त6न.धPव अ.ध6नयम, 1951 (सं[ेप म\ लो. .अ.ध6नयम, 1951) कR धारा

126क के ावधानT के अनुसार इस संबंध म\ 6नवा7चन आयोग वारा यथा अ.धसू.चत, इस अव.ध के

दौरान `कसी भी कार के एिAज़ट पोल के संचालन और उसके पbरणामT तथा ऐसे एिAज़ट पोल के

पbरणाम के सार पर 6तबंध होगा;

यतः, अब, लोक 6त6न.धPव अ.ध6नयम, 1951 कR धारा 126क कR उप-धारा (1) के अधीन

शिAतयT का योग करते हुए भारत 6नवा7चन आयोग, उAत धारा कR उप-धारा (2) के उपबंधT के

संबंध म\ एतdवारा, 11 अ&ैल, 2019 (बृह.पतवार) को पूवा 3न 07:00 बजे तथा 19 मई, 2019

(र9ववार) को अपरा3न 06:30 बजे के बीच कR अव.ध को, ऐसी अव.ध के eप म\ अ.धसू.चत करता है

िजसके दौरान वत7मान लोक सभा के साधारण 6नवा7चन, 2019 तथा आं: देश, अ<णाचल देश,

ओ>डशा एवं सिAकम Cवधान सभा के साधारण 6नवा7चन, 2019 और उपरोAत संदभ7त ेस नोट के

माGयम से घोCषत राSय Cवधान सभा के लए उप-6नवा7चनT, जो `क लोकसभा साधारण 6नवा7चनT के

साथ-साथ आयोिजत हTगे, के संबंध म\ `कसी भी कार के एिAज़ट पोल का संचालन तथा Cंट या

इलेAIॉ6नक मी>डया वारा इसका काशन या चार अथवा `कसी भी अgय तरNके से उसके सार पर

6तबंध रहेगा।

इसके अ6तbरAत यह भी iपHट `कया जाता है `क लोक 6त6न.धPव अ.ध6नयम, 1951 कR

धारा 126(1)(ख) के अधीन उपयु7Aत साधारण 6नवा7चनT तथा उप 6नवा7चनT के संबंध म\ संबं.धत

मतदान [ेT म\ मतदान कR समािjत के लए 6नयत समय के साथ समाjत होने वाले 48 घंटT

कR अव.ध के दौरान `कसी भी कार के 6नवा7चन संबंधी मामले का, `कसी भी ओपी6नयन पोल

या अgय `कसी पोल सवk के पbरणामT सVहत, दश7न `कसी भी इलेAIॉ6नक मी>डया से करने पर

6तबंध रहेगा ।

अंmेजी भाषा म\ उसका ा.धकृत पाठ समझा जायगा।

NOTIFICATION

7^th April, 2019/17 Chaitra, 1941 (Saka)

No. 576/Exit/2019/SDR-Vol.I -- Whereas, the schedule for the General Elections to the House

of the People, 2019, State Legislative Assemblies of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha &

Sikkim 2019 and bye-elections in the State Legislative Assemblies of Bihar, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya

Pradesh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh &

West Bengal, were announced by the Commission vide Press Notes bearing No. ECI/PN/23/2019

dated 10^th March, 2019, ECI/PN/26/2019 dated 13^th March, 2019 and ECI/PN/28/2019 dated 14^th

March, 2019.

And whereas, as per the provisions of Section 126A of The Representation of the People Act,

1951 (in short R.P. Act, 1951) there shall be restrictions on conduct of any exit poll and publication

and dissemination of result of such exit poll during such period, as may be notified by the Election

Commission in this regard;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers under sub-Section (1) of Section 126A of the R.P. Act, 1951,

the Election Commission, having regard to the provisions of sub-Section (2) of the said Section, hereby notifies

the period between 7.00 A.M on 11^th April, 2019 (Thursday) and 6:30 PM on 19^th May, 2019 (Sunday) as

the period during which conducting any exit poll and publishing or publicizing by means of the print or

electronic media or dissemination in any other manner whatsoever, the result of any exit poll in connection with

the current General Elections to the House of the People, 2019, and the State Legislative Assemblies of Andhra

Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha & Sikkim 2019, and bye-elections from assembly constituencies

announced vide Press Notes referred to above, to be held simultaneously with the general election to Lok Sabha,

shall be prohibited.

It is further clarified that under Section 126(1)(b) of the R.P. Act, 1951, displaying any election

matter including results of any opinion poll or any other poll survey, in any electronic media, would be

prohibited during the period of 48 hours ending with the hours fixed for conclusion of poll in the

respective polling areas in connection with aforesaid General elections and bye-elections.
