ददनाॊक: 07 अगस्त, 2025/ श्रावण 16, 1947(िक)

सॊ. 480/कायाक्रम/2025:-यतः, श्री जगदीऩ धनखड़ द्वारा 21 जसऱाई, 2025 को त्यागऩत्र देने के कारण

भारत के उऩराष्ट्रऩशत का ऩद ररक्त हो गया है; और

यतः, भारत के सॊववधान के अनसच्छेद 68 के खॊड (2) के अॊतगात, उक्त ररवक्त को भरने के शऱए

शनवााचन, ररवक्त होने के ऩचातात यथािीर क दकया जाना अऩेषऺत है; और

यत: राष्‍ट रऩतीय और उऩराष्‍ट रऩतीय शनवााचन अशधशनयम, 1952 (1952 का 31) की धारा 4 की उऩधारा

(4) के अधीन भारत शनवााचन आयोग द्वारा भार त के उऩराष्‍ट रऩशत के ऩद को भरने के शऱए शनवााचन हेतस तारीख

शनयत की जानी अऩेषऺत है;

अतः, अब, भारत शनवााचन आयोग एतद्द्द्वारा -

(अ) सॊववधान के अनसच्छेद 66 में शनददाष्ट शनवााचक मॊडऱ से यह अऩेऺा करता है दक वे सॊववधान के

प्रावधानों के अनसार, राष्ट्रऩतीय और उऩराष्ट्रऩतीय शनवााचन अशधशनयम, 1952 (1952 का 31) और

तद्धीन बनाए गए शनयमों और उनके तहत जारी दकए गए आदेिों के उऩबन्धों के अनसार, भारत के

उऩराष्ट्रऩशत के ऩद की उक्त ररवक्त को भरने के शऱए एक व्यवक्त शनवााशचत कर दें; और

(आ) उक्त अशधशनयम् की धारा 4 की उऩधारा (1) के अनसरण में शनम्नशऱषखत शनधााररत करता है-

(क) नाम शनदेिन करने की अॊशतम तारीख – 21 अगस्त, 2025 (गसरुवार);

(ख) नाम शनदेिनों की सॊवीऺा की तारीख – 22 अगस्त, 2025 (िसक्रवार);

(ग) अभ् यशथाताएॊ वाऩस ऱेने की अॊशतम तारीख – 25 अगस्त, 2025 (सोमवार); और

(घ) वह तारीख, षजसको यदद आवश् यक हसआ तो, मतदान होगा – 09 शसतॊबर, 2025 (मॊगऱवार)

No. 480/Programme/2025:- Whereas, a vacancy in the office of the Vice-President of India

has occurred by reason of resignation of Sh. JagdeepDhankhar on 21^st July, 2025; and

Whereas, under clause (2) of Article 68 of the Constitution of India, an election to fill the said

vacancy is required to be held as soon as possible after the occurrence of the vacancy; and

Whereas, under sub-section 4 of Section 4 of the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Elections

Act, 1952 (31 of 1952), the Election Commission of India is required to appoint the dates for the

election to fill the office of the Vice President of India;

Now, therefore, the Election Commission of India hereby –

(A) calls upon the Electoral College, referred to in Article 66 of the Constitution, to elect a person

to fill the said vacancy in the office of the Vice-President of India, in accordance with the

provisions of the Constitution, the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Elections Act, 1952 (31

of 1952), and the Rules and Orders made thereunder; and

(B) in pursuance of sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the said Act, appoints -

a) the 21^st August, 2025 (Thursday), as the last date for making nominations;

b) the 22^nd August, 2025 (Friday), as the date for scrutiny of the nominations;

c) the 25^th August, 2025 (Monday), as the last date for the withdrawal of candidatures; and

d) the 09^th September, 2025 (Tuesday), as the date on which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken.
