NOTIFICATION

Whereas the draft of the Karnataka Excise (Lease of the Right of Retail Vend of Beer) Rules,

1976, was published as required by sub-section (1) of section 71 of the Karnataka Excise Act, 1965

(Karnataka Act 21 of 1966) in Notification No. FD 08 (iii) PES 2020, dated:11.05.2021 in Part IV-A

of the Karnataka Gazette No.527, dated:11.05.2021inviting objections and suggestions from all

persons likely to be affected within fifteen days from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

And, whereas the said Gazette was made available to the public on 11^th May 2021.

And, whereas no objections and suggestions were received in respect of the said draft by the

State Government.

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the Section 71 of the Karnataka Excise

Act, 1965 (Karnataka Act 21 of 1966) the Government of Karnataka hereby makes the following

rules, namely;

RULES

1. Title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka Excise (Lease of

the Right of Retail Vend of Beer) (Amendment) Rules, 2021.

(2) They shall come into force with effect from the first day of June 2021.

2. Amendment of rule 9.- In the Karnataka Excise (Lease of the Right of Retail Vend of

Beer) Rules, 1976 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), in rule 9, for the words “Deputy

Commissioner”, the words “Deputy Commissioner of Excise”, shall be substituted.

3. Amendment of rule 10.- In rule 10 of the said rules, for the words “Deputy

Commissioner”, the words “Deputy Commissioner of Excise” shall be substituted.

4. Amendment of rule 11.- In rule 11 of the said rules, for the words “Deputy Commissioner”,

the words “Deputy Commissioner of Excise” shall be substituted.

5. Amendment of Form II.- In Form II of the said rules.-

(i) in Part-A, for the words, “Deputy Commissioner …..……District”, in two

places where they occur, the words and brackets “Deputy Commissioner

………District (in case of grant of licence) / Deputy Commissioner of Excise

……..……District (in case of renewal of licence)”, shall be substituted.

(ii) in Part-B, for the words, “Deputy Commissioner ……….. District” occurring

at the end, the words “Deputy Commissioner ………District (in case of grant

of licence)/Deputy Commissioner of Excise ……..………District (in case of

renewal of licence)”, shall be substituted.
