NOTIFICATION

The draft of the following rules further to amend the Karnataka Village

Officer Abolition Rules, 1961 was published as required by section 11 of the Village

Offices Abolition Act, 1961, (Karnataka Act 14 of 1961) in Notification No.RD 58

LRA 2021 dated: 11.01.2022 published in Volume – 30 of Part IV A of the

Karnataka Extraordinary Gazette dated: 11.01.2022 inviting objections or

suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby within fifteen days from

the date of its publication in the official Gazette.

Whereas the said Gazette was made available to the public on 11.01.2022.

And whereas no objections and suggestions have been received by the State

Government within the period of specified above.

Now, Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 11 of the

Village Offices Abolition Act, 1961, (Karnataka Act 14 of 1961) the Government of

Karnataka hereby makes the following rules to amend the Karnataka Village

Officer Abolition Rules, 1961, namely:-

RULES

1. Title and Commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka

Village Officer Abolition (Amendment) Rules, 2021.

(2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the

Official Gazette.

2. Amendment of rule 4.- In the Karnataka Village Officer Abolition Rules,

1961 in rule 4, in sub-rule (1) for the figures and words "within 31^st march 1992"

the words and figures “within one year from the date of commencement of the

Karnataka Village Officer Abolition (Amendment) Rules, 2021” shall be substituted.
