NOTIFICATION

Whereas the Notification of declaring the Town Panchayat of Kamalapur, Vijayanagar District as a

Smaller Urban Area as mentioned in Schedule ‘A’ along with boundaries mentioned in Schedule ‘B’ and further

to specify as ‘Town Municipal Council Area’ of Kamalapur was published as required by Section 3, 4, 9 and 355

of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964 in Part-III, No.235, Karnataka Gazette Extraordinary, dated

21/04/2022 vide Government Notification No:UDD 46 MLR 2022, dated 20/04/2022 by providing thirty days’

time and was published inviting objections/suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby on or

before thirty days from the date of publication of the Notification.

And whereas the Notification was made available to the public on the day of publication,

And whereas no objection/suggestion is received within the stipulated time,

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3, 4, 9 and 355 of the Karnataka

Municipalities Act, 1964 the Hon’ble Governor, hereby notify the Town Panchayat Area of Kamalapur,

Vijayanagar District as a Smaller Urban area as mentioned in Schedule-A along with boundaries mentioned in

Schedule-B and further specify such area to be the ‘Town Municipal Council Area’ of Kamalapur having regard

to:

i. The population of such area is not less than ten thousand and not more than Twenty

thousand; 25,552

ii. The density of population in such area is not less than one thousand five hundred

inhabitants to one square kilometer of area; 645

iii. The revenue generated for local administration from such area from tax and non-tax

sources in the year of the last preceding census is not less than rupees nine lakhs per

annum or a sum calculated at the rate of rupees forty five per capita per annum,

whichever is higher; Rs. 423/- per person

iv. The percentage of employment in non-agricultural activities is not less than fifty per

cent of the total employment; 60%
