NOTIFICATION
The draft of the following rules to amend the Karnataka Agriculture
Services (Cadre and Recruitment) Rules, 2021, which the Government of
Karnataka proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section
(1) of section 3 read with section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act,
1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990) is hereby published as required by clause (a)
of sub-section (2) of section 3 of the said Act, for the information of all the
persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the said
draft will be taken into consideration after fifteen days from the date of its
publication in the Official Gazette.
Any objections or suggestions which may be received by the State
Government from any person with respect to the said draft before the expiry of
the period specified above will be considered by the State Government.
Objections and suggestions may be addressed to the Secretary to Government,
Agriculture Department, M.S. Building, Bengaluru-560 001.
DRAFT RULES
1. Title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the
Karnataka Agriculture Services (Cadre and Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules,
2022.
(2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in
the Official Gazette.
2. Amendment of Schedule.- In the Karnataka Agriculture Services
(Recruitment) Rules, 2021 in the schedule,-
(1) before the entries relating to the category of post of “Commissioner
for Agriculture”, at serial no. 1 the following shall be inserted, namely:-

(2) in Part-2 (TECHNICAL CADRE),-
(a) after the category of post of “Director of Agriculture”, at serial no. 1,
and entries relating there to following shall be inserted, namely:

holders of Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture and remaining fifteen percent of post
shall be filled by holders of B.Tech (Agriculture Engineering) or B.Tech (Food
Technology/Food Science and Technology) or B.Tech (Biotechnology)” the words
“filled by holders of B.Sc in Agriculture or B.Sc (Hons.)Agriculture and remaining
fifteen percent of post shall be filled by holders of B.Tech (Food Science and
Technology)/B.Tech(Food Technology) or B.Sc (Agriculture Marketing and Co-
operation)/ B.Sc (Hons.) Agri Marketing and Co-operation / B.Sc (Hons.) Agri
Business Management or B.Sc (Agri Bio-technology)/ B.Tech (Bio-technology) or
B.Sc (Agriculture Engineering)/B.Tech (Agriculture Engineering)” shall be
substituted.
(g)
in Part-3 (MINISTERIAL STAFF CADRE) - in the category of post of
‘Administrative Officer’ at serial no. 1, in column 5, the following shall be inserted
at the end namely,-

“Provided that, if an officer who has put in a service of not less than
five years is not available, then an officer who has put in a service of not
less than three years may be considered for promotion”.
(h)
in Part-3 (MINISTERIAL STAFF CADRE) - in the category of post of
‘Assistant Administrative Officer’ at serial no. 2, in column 5, the following shall be
inserted at the end namely,-
“Provided that, if an official who has put in a service of not less than
five years is not available, then an official who has put in a service of not
less than three years may be considered for promotion”.
