NOTIFICATION

Whereas the Notification to extend the boundary of Indi Town Municipal Council of Vijayapur

District by including and excluding some adjacent Survey Numbered areas as mentioned in Schedule-

A along with boundaries mentioned in Schedule-B was published as required by section 3 read with

section 4 and 9 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964, vide Government Notification No:UDD

226 MLR 2021, dated 02/07/2022 by providing thirty days time and was published in part- III,

No.374, Karnataka Gazette Extraordinary, dated 04/07/2022 inviting objections from all persons

likely to be affected thereby on or before thirty days from the date of publication of the above

Notification.

And whereas the Notification was made available to the public on the day of publication;

And whereas no objection/suggestion has been received within the stipulated period;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3, 4, 9 and 357 of the Karnataka

Municipalities Act, 1964, the Hon’ble Governor, hereby extend the boundary of Town Municipal

Council Area of Indi, Vijaypur District by including the adjacent Survey Numbered Areas as

mentioned in Schedule–A, along with boundaries mentioned in Schedule–B, as the “Smaller Urban

Area” and further specifying such area to be the “Town Municipal Council Area of Indi” having

regards to:

i. The population of such area is not less than Twenty thousand and not more

than Fifty thousand; 39,184

ii. The density of population in such area is not less than One thousand five

hundred inhabitants to one square kilometer of area; 1,595

iii. The revenue generated for local administration from such area from tax and

non-tax sources in the year of the last preceding census is not less than rupees

Nine lakhs per annum or a sum calculated at the rate of rupees Forty five per

capita per annum, whichever is higher; Rs. 18,000/- per person

iv. The percentage of employment in non-agricultural activities is not less than

fifty per cent of the total employment; 57%

Further, Hon’ble Governor, hereby notify the adjacent Survey numbered areas mentioned in

Schedule–A which are excluded from Town Municipal Area of Indi to remain as Panchayath and

revenue areas.
