NOTIFICATION

The draft of the following rules further to amend the Karnataka Secondary Education

Examination Board (Scheme of Evaluation) Rules, 2017, which the Government of Karnataka

proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 33 and 34 of the Karnataka School

Examination and Assessment Board Act, 1966 (Karnataka Act 16 of 1966) read with sub-section (2)

of section 22 and sub-section (1) of section 145 of the Karnataka Education Act, 1983 (Karnataka

Act 01 of 1995), hereby published as required by sub-section (1) of section 145 of the Karnataka

Education Act, 1983 for the information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is

hereby given that the said draft will be taken into consideration after fifteen days from the date of its

publication in the official Gazette.

Any objection or suggestion which may be received by the State Government from any person

respect to the said draft before the expiry of the period specified above will be considered by the State

Government. The objections and suggestions may be addressed to the Principal Secretary to

Government, Department of School Education and Literacy, 6 floor, M.S.Building, Dr. B.R.

Ambedkar Veedhi, Bengaluru-560001.

DRAFT RULES

1. Title and commencement: - (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka Secondary

Education Examination Board (Scheme of Evaluation) (Amendment) Rules, 2023.

2. They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the

official gazette.

2. Amendment to Rule 6: - In the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (Scheme

of Evaluation) Rules, 2017, in rule 6,

(i) in sub-rules(1), for the words “two subjects”, The words “three

subjects”, shall be substituted; and

(ii) in sub-rule (2), for the words “five percent”, the words “ten

percent”, and for the words “two concerned subjects”, the words

“ three concerned subjects”, shall be substituted.
