THE KARNATAKA TRANSPARENCY IN PUBLIC PROCUREMENTS

(AMENDMENT) ACT, 2023

(Received the assent of the Governor on the 27^th day of July, 2023)

An Act further to amend the Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurements

Act, 1999.

Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Karnataka Transparency in

Public Procurements Act, 1999 (Karnataka Act 29 of 2000) for the purposes

hereinafter appearing;

Be it enacted by the Karnataka State Legislature in the Seventy fourth year

of the Republic of India as follows:-

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the

Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurements (Amendment) Act, 2023.

(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from 29^th day of

March 2023.

2. Amendment of section 6.- In the Karnataka Transparency in Public

Procurements Act, 1999 (Karnataka Act 29 of 2000), in section 6, in the first

proviso, for the words and figures “Rs.50.00 Lakhs”, the words and figures “Rs.1.00

crore”, shall be substituted.

3. Repeal and savings.- (1) The Karnataka Transparency in Public

Procurements (Amendment) Ordinance, 2023 (Karnataka Ordinance 02 of 2023)

is hereby repealed.

(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under

the principal Act, as amended by the said Ordinance, shall be deemed to have been

done or taken under the principal Act, as amended by this Act.
