NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 318 of the Constitution of India,

the Governor of Karnataka hereby makes the following regulations further to

amend the Karnataka Public Service Commission (Conditions of Service)

Regulations, 1957, namely:-

1. Title and commencement.- (1) These regulations may be called the

Karnataka Public Service Commission (Conditions of Service) (Amendment)

Regulations, 2023.

(2) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the official

Gazette.

2. Amendment of Regulation 11.- In the Karnataka Public Service

Commission (Conditions of Service) Regulations, 1957, in regulation 11, in sub-

regulation (3), for the clauses (i) and (ii) the following shall be substituted, namely:-

“(i) the pension of the retired Chairman or Member of the Commission shall

be paid at the rate of five percent of the basic pay drawn for every completed year

of service as the Chairman or Member of the Commission:

Provided that,-

(a) a Chairman who has served for the full term of six years, shall be eligible

to draw a monthly pension of Rs.67,500/-.

(b) a Member who has served for the full term of six years, shall be eligible

to draw a monthly pension of Rs.61,500/-.

(ii) a member shall not be eligible for more than one pension. He shall be

given an opportunity to opt for pension either on account of his previous

employment or pension for the service rendered by virtue of being member of the

Commission.

(iii) a member joining on or after the date of commencement of the Karnataka

Public Service Commission (Conditions of Service) (Amendment) Regulations, 2023,

shall be covered under the New Pension Scheme (NPS).”
