NOTIFICATION

Whereas the Notification to extend the boundary of Town Municipal Council Area of Terdal of

Bagalkot District by including some adjacent Survey Numbered areas as mentioned in Schedule-A

along with boundaries mentioned in Schedule-B was published as required by section-3 read with

section-4 and 9 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964, vide Government Notification No:UDD

197 MLR 2022, dated 30/06/2023 by providing thirty days time and was published in part-III, No.292,

Karnataka Gazette Extraordinary, dated 30/06/2023 inviting objections from all persons likely to be

affected thereby on or before thirty days from the date of publication of the above Notification.

And whereas the Notification was made available to the public on the day of publication;

And whereas no objection/suggestion has been received within the stipulated period;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section-3, 4, 9, 349, 355, 357 and 359

of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964, the Hon’ble Governor, hereby extend the boundary of

Town Municipal Council Area of Terdal, Bagalkot District by including the adjacent Survey

Numbered Areas as mentioned in Schedule–A, along with boundaries mentioned in Schedule–B, as

the “Smaller Urban Area” and further specifying such area to be the “Town Municipal Council Area

of Terdal” having regards to:

a) Such area contains a population of not less than twenty thousand but less than fifty

thousand;

b) The density of population in such area is not less than one thousand five hundred

inhabitants to one square kilometer of area;

c) The revenue generated for local administration from such area from tax and non-tax

sources in the year of the last preceding census is not less than rupees nine lakh per

annum or a sum calculated at the rate of rupees forty-five per capita per annum,

whichever is higher;

d) The percentage of employment in non-agricultural activities is not less than fifty percent

of the total employment.

The revised boundary of the Town Municipal Area of Terdal starts at point ‘P’ that is North-

West point of S.No.389 and goes towards East through the Northern point of S.No.389, 388,

387, 386, 385, 384, 383 and moving towards S.No.373 reaching south west corner ten turning

towards North, going through west border of S.No.419 towards north west going to the east

from the north of S.No.419, 420, 421, 513 reaching the North-East corner of S.No.513 from

North-East corner of S.No.513 passing through east border of S.No.511 reaches North west

corner S.No.511. Starts from North border of S.No.511, 510, 509, 508, 507, 506, 504, 503,
