NOTIFICATION

Whereas the Notification to extend the boundary of Town Municipal Council Area of

Bailahongala of Belagavi District by including some adjacent Survey Numbered areas as

mentioned in Schedule-A along with boundaries mentioned in Schedule-B was published as

required by section-3 read with section-4 and 9 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964,

vide Government Notification No:UDD 230 MLR 2021, dated 30/06/2023 by providing thirty

days time and was published in part-III, No.291, Karnataka Gazette Extraordinary, dated

30/06/2023 inviting objections from all persons likely to be affected thereby on or before

thirty days from the date of publication of the above Notification.

And whereas the Notification was made available to the public on the day of publication;

And whereas no objection/suggestion has been received within the stipulated period;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section-3, 4, 9, 349, 355, 357

and 359 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964, the Hon’ble Governor, hereby extend the

boundary of Town Municipal Council Area of Bailahongala, Belagavi District by including

the adjacent Survey Numbered Areas as mentioned in Schedule–A, along with boundaries

mentioned in Schedule–B, as the “Smaller Urban Area” and further specifying such area to

be the “Town Municipal Council Area of Bailahongala” having regards to:

a) Such area contains a population of not less than twenty thousand but less than

fifty thousand;

b) The density of population in such area is not less than one thousand five hundred

inhabitants to one square kilometer of area;

c) The revenue generated for local administration from such area from tax and non-

tax sources in the year of the last preceding census is not less than rupees nine

lakh per annum or a sum calculated at the rate of rupees forty-five per capita per

annum, whichever is higher;

d) The percentage of employment in non-agricultural activities is not less than fifty

percent of the total employment.

The proposed Bailhongal Town Municipal Boundary extended boundary starts From the point

‘A’ that is bailhongal R.S.No.353, North-West corner of R.S.No.353 of Bailhongal village.

From this point the line moves towards eastern direction. Along the Northern Boundary of

R.S.No.353, 354,371 and reaches North-East corner of R.S.No.371 of Bailhongal village.

From this point the line moves towards Northern direction along the western boundary of

R.S.No.372 and reaches North-West corner R.S.No.372. From this point the line moves

towards Eastern direction along the Northern Boundary of R.S.No.372, 375, 376, 377, 378,

379, 380, 382, 383, 384, 385, 386, 389 and reaches the North-East conrer of R.S.No.389.

From this point line passes through Bailhongal to Inchal (SH-31) and reaches North-West

corner of R.S.No.390 of Bailongal village. From this point the line moves towards Eastern

direction along the Northern Boundary of R.S.No.390, 395, 400, 401, 410, 411, 413, 414,

417, 418, 419, 450, 451, 452, 455, 456, 457, 466, 467, 468, 471, 475, 476, 481, 482, 487, 488,

492, 493, 497, 498, 502, 503 and reaches North east corner of R.S.No.503. From this point

the line moves towards Southern direction along the Easter Boundary of R.S.No.503, 504 of

Bailhongal village. And reaches South-East corner of R.S.No.504. From this point it crosses

the Nala and then reaches North-East corner of R.S.No.505. From this point again the line

moves towards Southern direction along the East Boundary of R.S.No.505 and reaches South-

East corner of R.S.No.505. From this point the line moves towards Eastern direction. Along

the Northern Boundary of R.S.No.517 and reaches North-East corner of R.S.No.517 of

Bailhongal village. From this point the line moves towards southern direction along the

Eastern Boundary of R.S.No.518 and reaches South-East corner of R.S.No.518 of Bailhongal

village. Again the line moves towards Southern direction along the Eastern Boundary of

R.S.No.519 and from the Bailhongal-Murgod (MDR) Road and reaches North corner of

R.S.No.520. Again from this point the line moves towards Southern direction along the

Eastern Boundary of R.S.No.520, 521 and reaches South-East corner of R.S.No.521. Again

from this point the line moves towards Eastern direction along the Northern boundary of

boundary of R.S.No.130, 131, 132 and reaches South-West corner of R.S.No.132 of

Bailhongal village. From this point the line moves towards Southern direction along the

Eastern boundary of R.S.No.138, 139, 142, 143, 144, 145 and reaches South-East corner of

R.S.No.145. From this point the line moves towards Western direction along the South

boundary of R.S.No.145 and the line passes through Bailhongal-Mal road and towards
