NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 50 of the Special Marriage Act, 1954

(Central Act 43 of 1954) the Government of Karnataka hereby makes the following rules

further to amend the Special Marriage (Karnataka) Rules 1961, namely: -

RULES

1. Title and Commencement. - (1) These rules may be called the Special Marriage

(Karnataka) (Amendment) Rules, 2024.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. Amendment to rule 4. In the Special Marriage (Karnataka) Rules 1961, in rule 4.

(i) in sub rule (1), after the words “by registered post” the words “or electronically”

shall be inserted;

(ii) in sub rule (2) the following shall be inserted at the end, namely,-

“Where the notice is sent electronically, the fee shall be remitted through online

mode.”
