THE KARNATAKA LAND REVENUE (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2024

(Received the assent of the Governor on the 21^st day of March, 2024)

An Act further to amend the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964.

Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Karnataka Land Revenue Act,

1964 (Karnataka Act 12 of 1964) for the purposes hereinafter appearing;

Be it enacted by the Karnataka State Legislature in the Seventy fifth year of

the Republic of India, as follows:-

1. Short title and commencement.-(1) This Act may be called the

Karnataka Land Revenue (Amendment) Act, 2024.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

2. Amendment of Section 94-A:- In Section 94-A of Karnataka Land

Revenue Act, 1964 (Karnataka Act 12 of 1964),-

(i) after sub-section (1) the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:-

“Provided that

(i)

if the member of the Legislative Assembly of the respective

Assembly Constituency has indicated in writing that they are

unable or unwilling to be a member of the Committee, or

(ii)

if the position of the Member of Legislative Assembly for that

constituency is vacant, the State Government shall nominate

any person as a member of the Committee of such Assembly

Constituency.”

(ii) for sub-section (2) , the following shall be substituted, namely:-

“The State Government shall appoint the Tahsildar of the taluk constituting

the major part of that constituency on the basis of population as the Secretary of

the committee.”

(iii) in sub-section (2A),-

(a)

for the word “taluk” the word “constituency” shall be

substituted;

(b)

the words “and another as the Secretary of the committee.”

Shall be omitted; and

(c)

for the words “Deputy Commissioner” the words “State

Government” shall be substituted.

(iv) in sub-section (4), the words “or any portion thereof” shall be omitted.

(v) in the first proviso to sub-section (4), for the word “person” the word

“family” shall be substituted.

ಉർಯ (ൟൿ౪ಪല) ಅඌඛಯಮ, 2024 ಎಂൿ ಕฉಯತಕౙൿ౪.

(2) ಇൿ ಈ ಁಡศ ೦คಡ ಬರತಕౙൿ౪.

2. 94ಎඡ ಪ౳ಕರಣದ ൟൿ౪ಪല.- ಕකბಟಕ ේ ಉർಯ ಅඌඛಯಮ, 1964

(1964ರ ಕකბಟಕ ಅඌඛಯಮ 12)ರ 94ಎ ಪ౳ಕರಣದย౵,

(i) (1)ඡ ಉಪಪ౳ಕರಣದ ತฆ฿ಯ ಈ ෨ಂൽನ ಪฏൡಕವඝ౬ ๳คಸತಕౙൿ౪,

ಎಂದฉ:-

“ಪฏൡ,-

(i) ๸ීඌತ เඋನ ಸූ ಃ౹ೕತ౳ದ เඋನ ಸොಯ ಸದಸ౲ฆ ಸ෦ൟಯ

ಸದಸ౲ฃಞโದಃౙ ๬ಧ౲฿ಞโൽಲ౵ๅಂൿ ಅಥ฿ ಇ೉౟๭ฆโൽಲ౵ๅಂൿ ย಍ತದย౵

(ii) (2)ඡ ಉಪಪ౳ಕರಣದ ಬದยಡ ಈ ෨ಂൽನದඝ౬ ಪ౳ൟ෽ೕ೧ಸತಕౙൿ౪, ಎಂದฉ:-

(iii) (2ಎ) ಉಪಪ౳ಕರಣದย౵,-

(ಎ) “൞ล౵౾ಡ” ಎಂಬ ಪದದ ಬದยಡ “เඋನ ಸූ ಃ౹ೕತ౳ಃౙ” ಎಂಬ ಪದಗಳඝ౬

ಪ౳ൟ෽ೕ೧ಸತಕౙൿ౪;

(෈) “๻ಟ ಇඣ౬ಬ౯ರඝ౬ ಸ෦ൟಯ ౽ಯბದ๏ბ෴ಜ” ಎಂಬ ಪದಗಳඝ౬

෈ഖౣ෈ಡತಕౙൿ౪; ಮൡ౨

(๭) “ഷත౲ഔ ಕ෦ಷನฑඝ” ಎಂಬ ಪದಗಳ ಬದมಜ “ฃಜ౲ ಸ౽ბರโ” ಎಂಬ

ಪದಗಳඝ౬ ಪ౳ൟ෽ೕ೧ಸತಕౙൿ౪.

(iv) (4)ඡ ಉಪಪ౳ಕರಣದย౵ “ಅಥ฿ ಅದರ ූಗವඝ౬” ಎಂಬ ಪದಗಳඝ౬

෈ഖౣ෈ಡತಕౙൿ౪.

(v) (4)ඡ ಉಪಪ౳ಕರಣದ ෮ದಲඡ ಪฏൡಕದย౵ “ವ౲౾౨෷” ಎಂಬ ಪದದ ಬದมಜ

“ಀഖಂಬโ” ಎಂಬ ಪದವඝ౬ ಪ౳ൟ෽ೕ೧ಸತಕౙൿ౪.

The above translation of the Karnataka Land Revenue (Amendment) Act,

2024 (Karnataka Act 24 of 2024) shall be an authoritative text in Kannada language

under section 6 of the Kannada Language Comprehensive Development Act, 2022

(Karnataka Act No.13 of 2023).
