NOTIFICATION

Whereas the draft Rules further to amend the Karnataka Municipalities

(President and Vice-President) Election, Rules, 1965, which the Government of

Karnataka proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2A)

of Section 42 read with Section 323 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964

(Karnataka Act 22 of 1964) was published as required by sub-section (1) of Section

323 of the said act vide notification No. UDD 10 MLR 2024 (e), dated: 12-07-2024 in

part-IVA of the Karnataka Gazette Extraordinary dated: 12-07-2024 inviting objections

and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected within 15 days from the date of

publication of the said notification in the official gazette.

And whereas the said Gazette was made available to the public on 12^th July 2024.

And whereas objections and suggestion received within this stipulated period

were examined by the Government.

Now therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 42 read with

section 323 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964 (Karnataka Act 22 of 1964) the

Government of Karnataka hereby makes the following rules, further to amend the

Karnataka Municipalities (President & Vice President) Election Rules, 1965, namely:-

RULES

1. Title and Commencement.-(1) These rules may be called the Karnataka

Municipalities (President and Vice-President) (Election) (Amendment) Rules,

2024

(2) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the official

Gazette.

2. Amendment of rule 13.- In the Karnataka Municipalities (President and Vice-

President) Election, Rules, 1965, in rule 13 in sub rule (1) for Table-1, Table-2

and Table-3 and the entries relating thereto the following shall be substituted

namely:-
