NOTIFICATION
As per the direction of Hon’ble Supreme Court in SLP (civil) No. 7090/2021
dated 10-05-2022, and request of the Government, National Informatics Centre (NIC)
has developed a software and submitted the reservation chart for the office of President
and Vice-President in Urban Local bodies (CMC, TMC, TP) for the 10th term. The
said reservation chart was filed before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India on 12-09-
2022 through an Affidavit by the State Government. Now, the Government decided to
allot the same reservation as submitted to Hon’ble Supreme Court of India as per
section 42 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964 and Rule 13 of Karnataka
Municipalities (President and Vice-President) Election Rules, 1965.
Therefore, Government hereby allots the office of the President and Vice
President to various categories for the TENTH TERM in respect of the following CITY
MUNICIPAL COUNCIL as per section 42 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964
and under rule 13-A and 13 of the Karnataka Municipalities (President and Vice
President) Election (Amendment) Rules, 2024 issued vide order No. UDD 10 MLR
2024, dated: 05/08/2024.

NOTIFICATION
Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in SLP (civil) No.7090/2021 has given
directions on 10-05-2022 regarding the procedure to be followed and the steps to be
taken on the basis of which software can be developed by the National Informatics
Centre (NIC) for preparation of the reservation chart for the office of President and
Vice-President in Urban Local bodies as per section 42 of the Karnataka Municipalities
Act, 1964 and rule 13 of Karnataka Municipalities (President and Vice-President)
Election Rules, 1965.
Based on the said directions and request of the Government, National
Informatics Centre (NIC) has developed a software and submitted the reservation chart
for the office of President and Vice-President in Urban Local bodies for the 10th term
and the same was filed before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India on 12-09-2022
through an Affidavit by the State Government. Hence the Government finds fit to allot
the same reservation as submitted to Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
Therefore, Government hereby allots the office of the President and Vice
President to various categories for the TENTH TERM in respect of the following CITY
MUNICIPAL COUNCILS as per section 42 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964
and under rule 13 and 13-A of the Karnataka Municipalities (President and Vice
President) Election (Amendment) Rules, 2024 issued vide order No. UDD 10 MLR
2024, dated: 05/08/2024.
