NOTIFICATION
Whereas the Notification to declare the City Municipal Area of Raichur of Raichur District as
a Larger Urban Area and further to specify such Area as ‘The Corporation of the City of Raichur’ as
mentioned in the Schedule-A along with boundaries mentioned in Schedule-B was published as
required by section-3 read with section-9 and 503 of the Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act 1976,
vide Government Notification No:UDD 139 MLR 2022, dated 16/10/2024 by providing thirty days
time and was published in Part-III, No.466, Karnataka Gazette Extraordinary, dated 16/10/2024
inviting objections/suggestions from all the persons likely to be affected thereby on or before thirty
days from the date of publication of the above Notification.
And whereas the Notification was made available to the public on the day of publication;
And whereas no objection/suggestion has been received within the stipulated period;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3, 4 and 503 of the Karnataka
Municipal Corporations Act 1976, the Hon’ble Governor, hereby notify the City Municipal Area of
Raichur as a “Larger Urban Area” and further specifying such area to be ‘The Corporation of the City
of Raichur’ as mentioned in Schedule–A, along with the boundaries mentioned in Schedule-B, for
the purpose of administration having regard regards to:
i.
The population of such area is not less than three lakhs;
ii.
The density of population in such area is not less than three thousand inhabitants to
one square kilometer of area;
iii.
The revenue generated for local administration from such area from tax and non-
tax sources in the year of the last preceding census is not less than rupees six crores
per annum or a sum calculated at the rate of rupees two hundred per capita per
annum, whichever is higher;
iv.
The percentage of employment in non-agricultural activities is not less than fifty
per cent of the total employment.

reaches at S.No.1436, 1434, 1435, 1122, 1160, 1125 at the East direction and then from S.No.1128,

S.No.50 and Railway line near Yaramaras, S.No.47, 44, 40 & 19 of West part of Yaramaras village.
Then, passes through S.No.129, 128, 123, 120, 122, 130, 1, 114, 113, 118, 37, 52, 57, 56, and PWD
Road, then passes through S.No.153, 154, 151, 111 & 215, 211, 218, 29 of Eklaspur village and
crosses the Railway line, Then, reaches S.No.51, 47, 46, 44, 43 & 41 of Askihal village and then
reaches S.No.349, 351, 355 that reaches South-West corner of Rampur village and then reaches
S.No.21 through S.No.2, 17, 27 and PWD Road. And from there it passes through Railway line of
