THE KARNATAKA LEGISLATURE (PREVENTION OF DISQUALIFICATION)

(SECOND AMENDMENT) ACT, 2024

(Received the assent of the Governor on the 21^st day of January, 2025)

An Act further to amend the Karnataka Legislature (Prevention of

Disqualification) Act, 1956.

Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Karnataka Legislature

(Prevention of Disqualification) Act, 1956 (Karnataka Act 4 of 1957) for the

purposes hereinafter appearing;

Be it enacted by the Karnataka State Legislature in the seventy fifth year of

the Republic of India, as follows:-

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Karnataka

Legislature (Prevention of Disqualification) (Second Amendment) Act, 2024.

(2) The provisions of clause (i) and (ii) of section 2 shall be deemed to have

come into force with effect from 01.06.2023 and 29.12.2023 respectively.

2. Amendment of section 3.- In the Karnataka Legislature (Prevention of

Disqualification) Act, 1956 (Karnataka Act 4 of 1957), in section 3,-

(i) for clause (e), the following shall be substituted, namely:-

“(e) Office of the Political Secretary-I to the Chief Minister;

(e1) Office of the Political Secretary-II to the Chief Minister.”

(ii) after clause (g), the following shall be inserted , namely:-

“(h) Office of the Financial Advisor to the Chief Minister;

(i) Office of Advisor (Policy and Planning) to the Chief Minister;

and

(j) Office of the Deputy Chairman to the Karnataka State Policy

and Planning Commission”.

1. ๸౾౹ಪ౨ ກಸฆ ಮൡ౨ ඩ౳ฏಭ.- (1) ಈ ಅඌඛಯಮವඝ౬ ಕකბಟಕ

เඋನ෱ಡಲ (ಅನಹბ൞ ඛ฿ರ൏) (ಎರಡඡ ൟൿ౪ಪല) ಅඌඛಯಮ, 2024 ಎಂൿ

ಕฉಯತಕౙൿ౪.

(2) 2ඡ ಪ౳ಕರಣದ (i) ಮൡ౨ (ii)ඡ ಘಡದ ಉಪීಧಗำ 01.06.2023 ಮൡ౨

29.12.2023 คಂದ ಅඝಕ౳ಮ฿ಜ ೦คಡ ීൽฆโർಜ ූเಸತಕౙൿ౪.

ಅඌඛಯಮ, 1956 (1957ರ ಕකბಟಕ ಅඌඛಯಮ 4)ರ 3ඡ ಪ౳ಕರಣದย౵,-

(i) (ಇ) ಘಡದ ಬದมಜ ಈ ෨ಂൽನದඝ౬ ಪ౳ൟ෽ೕ೧ಸತಕౙൿ౪, ಎಂದฉ:-

“(ಇ) ෨ಖ౲෱ൟ౳ಗಳ ฃಜ౾ೕಯ ౽ಯბದ๏ბ-I ๾ං౪;

(ಇ1) ෨ಖ౲෱ൟ౳ಗಳ ฃಜ౾ೕಯ ౽ಯბದ๏ბ- II ๾ං౪;”

(ii) (೧) ಘಡದ ತฆ฿ಯ ಈ ෨ಂൽನದඝ౬ ๳คಸತಕౙൿ౪, ಎಂದฉ:-

“(ಎೖ) ෨ಖ౲෱ൟ౳ಗಳ ಆ൮ბಕ ಸಲກಛರರ ๾ං౪ ;

(ಐ) ෨ಖ౲෱ൟ౳ಗಳ ಸಲກಛರฆ (ඛೕൟ ಮൡ౨ ෽ೕಜච) ๾ං౪; ಮൡ౨

(೬) ಕකბಟಕ ฃಜ౲ ඛೕൟ ಮൡ౨ ෽ೕಜක ಆ෽ೕಗದ ಉඩಧ౲ౘರ

The above translation of the Karnataka Legislature (Prevention of

Disqualification) (Second Amendment) Act, 2024 (Karnataka Act No 11 of 2025)

shall be an authoritative text in Kannada language under section 6 of the Kannada

Language Comprehensive Development Act, 2022 (Karnataka Act No. 13 of 2023).
