NOTIFICATION-I

The draft of the following rules further to amend Karnataka Inland Vessels Rules,

2006, which the Government of Karnataka proposes to make in exercise of the powers

conferred by sections19,19R and 67 read with section 74 of the Inland Vessels Act, 1917

(Central Act 1 of 1917), is hereby published as required by sub-section (1) of section 74 of

the said to the information of all the persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is

hereby given that the said draft will be taken into consideration after thirty days from the

date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

Any objection or suggestion which may be received by the State Government from

any person with respect to the said draft before the expiry of the period specified above, will

be considered by the State Government. Objections or suggestions may be addressed to the

Secretary to Government, Infrastructure Development, Ports and Inland Water Transport

Department, Ground Floor, Vikasa Soudha, Bengaluru - 560 001.

1. Title and Commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the draft Karnataka Inland

Vessels (Amendment) Rules, 2025.

(2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the Official

Gazette.

2. Substitution of Schedule.- In the Karnataka Inland Vessels Rules 2006, in the

Schedule, for Part “A”, Part “B”and Part “C” and the entries relating thereto the following shall

be substituted namely:-

Note: The rates specified in Schedule Part-A, Part-B and Part-C Column 2, shall be increased

5% annually. These rates will be reviewed after every 5 years.

The annual escalation of 5% is fixed/considered as per the concurrence of Finance

Department vide Note No. FD 450 Exp-1/2024 dated 02.12.2024 and Cabinet Note sub No.

C/48/2025, Dated:30.01.2025.
