NOTIFICATION

Whereas the draft of the Karnataka Inland Vessels Rules, 2006, which

the Government of Karnataka proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred

by sections19,19R and 67 read with section 74 of the Inland Vessels Act, 1917 (Central Act 1

of 1917), was published in Notification-1 No. IDD 62 PSP 2024, dated:10.02.2025 in part-

IV A of the Karnataka Gazette dt.10.02.2025 inviting objections and suggestions from all

persons likely to be affected thereby within thirty days from the date of the its publication

in the Official Gazette.

And whereas, the said Gazette was made available to the public on 10^th February 2025.

And Whereas, no objections and suggestions were received in this regard.

Therefore, now in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 19, 19R and 67 read

with section 74 of the Inland Vessels Act, 1917(Central Act 1 of 1917), the Government of

Karnataka hereby makes the following rules, namely:-

Rules

1. Title and Commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka Inland Vessels

(Amendment) Rules, 2025.

(2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette.

2. Substitution of Schedule.- In the Karnataka Inland Vessels Rules 2006, in the Schedule,

for Part “A”, Part “B”and Part “C” and the entries relating thereto the following shall be

substituted namely:-

Note: The rates specified in Schedule Part-A, Part-B and Part-C Column 2, shall be increased

5% annually. These rates will be reviewed after every 5 years.

The annual escalation of 5% is fixed as per the concurrence of Finance Department vide

Note No. FD 450 Exp-1/2024 dated:02.12.2024 and Cabinet Note sub No.C/48/2025,

Dated:30.01.2025.
