NOTIFICATION

Whereas the Notification to extend the boundary of Town Municipal Council

Area of Madhugiri of Tumkur District by including some adjacent Survey Numbered

areas as mentioned in Schedule-A along with boundaries mentioned in Schedule-B was

published as required by section-3 read with section-4, 9, 349, 355, 357 and 359 of the

Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964, vide Government Notification No:UDD 167 MLR

2024, dated 18/02/2025 by providing thirty days time and was published in part-III,

No.110, Karnataka Gazette Extraordinary, dated 18/02/2025 inviting objections from

all persons likely to be affected thereby on or before thirty days from the date of

publication of the above Notification.

And whereas the Notification was made available to the public on the day of

publication;

And whereas the objection/suggestion received within the stipulated period has

been taken for consideration;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section-3, 4, 9, 349, 355,

357 and 359 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964, the Hon’ble Governor, hereby

extend the boundary of Town Municipal Council Area of Madhugiri, Tumkur District

by including the adjacent Survey Numbered Areas as mentioned in Schedule–A, along

with boundaries mentioned in Schedule–B, as the “Smaller Urban Area” and further

specifying such area to be the “Town Municipal Council Area of Madhugiri” having

regards to:

a) Such area contains a population of not less than twenty thousand but less

than fifty thousand;

b) The density of population in such area is not less than one thousand five

hundred inhabitants to one square kilometer of area;

c) The revenue generated for local administration from such area from tax and

non-tax sources in the year of the last preceding census is not less than

rupees nine lakh per annum or a sum calculated at the rate of rupees forty-

five per capita per annum, whichever is higher;

d) The percentage of employment in non-agricultural activities is not less than

fifty percent of the total employment.

EAST: The boundary starts from Sy.No.62 of the palyadahalli village and passing

towards southern direction including Sy.No.63, 72 runs along the Doddaballapura road

and it also includes Sy.No.73.

SOUTH: Starting from South-East point of Sy.No.73 of palyadahalli village running

towards westward by including the Sy.No.74, 75, 76, 82, 81, 86, 91, 92 & 93. Then by

joining the North-East point of Sy.No.26 of the Guruvaderahalli village and passing

towards southward direction then reaches the South-East point of Sy.No.26. Then

passing towards westward direction reaches the South-West point of Sy.No.26. Then

starts from North-East point of Sy.No.53 of Cholenahalli village running towards

Southward along the East side boundary of Sy.No.53, 63, 84, 82, 87 & Sy.No.27 of

Harihararoppa village & reaches the South-East point of Sy.No.27. Then runs along

the Southward and Westward direction and reaches the North-West point of Sy.No.27.

Then runs towards the Westward direction of Sy.No.65 of Cholenahalli village and

Sy.No.20, 19, 18, 17, 25 of Harihararoppa village then crosses the Tumakuru-

Madhugiri State Highway and reaches the North-East point of Sy.No.24. Starting from

North-East point of Sy.No.24 run towards the Westward direction and then crosses the

Tumakruu-Madhugiri State Highway and reaches the South-West point of Sy.No.3

then run towards the Southward direction of Sy.No.4 and reaches the Southern point

of Sy.No.4. Then runs towards the Northward direction along the West side boundary

of Sy.No.4 & 5 and reaches the North-West point of Sy.No.5. Then runs along the

Southward part of the Sy.No.6 & 7 and reaches the South-East point of Sy.No.49 of

Madhugiri village. Then runs along the Southern part of Sy.No.49 and reaches the

South-West point of Sy.No.49.

WEST: Starting from the South-West point of the Sy.No.49 of Madhugiri village then

runs towards Northern and Western direction Sy.No.49 including Sy.No.60 reaches the

North-West point of Sy.No.47 of Madhugiri village. Then starts from the South-West

point of Sy.No.118 of Lingenahalli village runs towards the Northern direction

including Sy.No.119, 120, 121 then crosses the Sira-Madhugiri National Highway,

runs towards the Northern direction including Sy.No.126, 127, 128, 129, 44, 47, 48, 49

reaches the North-West corner of Sy.No.50.

NORTH: Starting from the North-West corner of Sy.No.50 of Lingenahalli village

runs towards eastern side along the Sy.No.51, 52, 53, 63, 64, 67, 74, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87,

88 crosses the Pavagada-Madhugiri State Highway then runs along the Sy.No.89, 90

crosses the nala including Sy.No.92 reaches North-East point of Sy.No.91. Then runs

towards Southern direction along with Sy.No.91, 93, 96, 100, 101, 103 reaches the

North-West point of Sy.No.15 of Madhugiri village. Starting from North-West point

of Sy.No.15 runs towards the Eastern side including Sy.No.59, 24, 25, 26, 27 of

Madhugiri village & 48, 49 of Panne village then runs along with Sy.No.28, 29 of

Madhugiri village and Sy.No.1, 2 of Cholenahalli village, Sy.No.46 of Guruvaderahalli

village crosses the nala then runs along with Sy.No.45, 39, 38, 19, 18, 16, 15 reaches

the Bijavara road. Then runs along with Sy.No.1, 2 of Guruvaderahalli village reaches

the North-East point of Sy.No.2. Starts from North-West point of Sy.No.119 of

Palyadahalli village runs towards Eastern side along with Sy.No.118, 117, 112, 111,

109, 58, 59, 60, 66 then reaches the North-East point of Sy.No.62.
