THE KITTURU DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (AMENDMENT) BILL, 2025
(LA Bill No. 38 of 2025)
A Bill to amend the Kitturu Development Authority Act, 2011.
Whereas it is expedient to amend the Kitturu Development Authority Act,
2011 (Karnataka Act No. 10 of 2012) for the purpose hereinafter appearing:
Be it enacted by the Karnataka State Legislature in the Seventy sixth year of
the Republic of India as follows :-
1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Kitturu
Development Authority ( Amendment) Act, 2025.
(2) it shall come into force at once.

2. Amendment of section 3.- In the Kitturu Development Authority Act,
2011 (Karnataka Act No. 10 of 2012), in section 3, in sub-section (4), for clause (a),
the following shall be substituted, namely:-
“(a) The Chief Minister or Revenue Minister or any other Minister as chosen by the
Chief Minister - Ex-officio Chairman”.
STATEMENT OF OBJECTS AND REASONS
It is considered necessary further to amend the Kitturu Development
Authority Act, 2011 (Karnataka Act No.10 of 2012) to revise the provision regarding
Chairperson of the Kitturu Development Authority as - the Chief Minister or
Revenue Minister or any other Minister as chosen by the Chief Minister.
Hence, the Bill.

EXTRACT OF THE KITTURU DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY ACT, 2011
(KARNATAKA ACT NO.10 OF 2012)

3. Constitution of the Authority.-(1) As soon as may be, after the
commencement of this Act, there shall be constituted for the purposes of this Act,
an Authority called as the Kitturu Development Authority.
(2) The Authority shall have its headquarters at such place as may be
determined by the Authority from time to time.
(3) The Authority shall be a body corporate by the name aforesaid, having
perpetual succession and a common seal with power to acquire, hold and dispose

of property, both movable and immovable, and to contract and shall be the said
name sue and be sued.
(4) The Authority shall consist of the following members namely:-
(a) The Chief Minister, who shall be the Ex-officio Chairperson of the
Authority.
(b) The Minister in charge of Belgaum District who shall be the Ex-officio Vice
Chairman of the Authority;
(c) The Minister in charge of Kannada and Culture - Ex-officio Member
(d) The Minister in charge of Revenue - Ex-officio Member
(e) The Minister in charge of Tourism. - Ex-officio Member
(f) The Minister in charge of Public Works - Ex-officio Member
(g) The Members of the Parliament and members of the State Legislature
representing a part or whole of the Kitturu village whose electoral constituencies lie
within its limit - Members
