NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by the Section-3 read with section-4,

9, 349, 351 and 355 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act 1964, His Excellency,

the Governor of Karnataka hereby propose to declare the Grama Panchayat of

Talakadu (Grama Panchayat comprising of Talakadu of Vadeyandarahalli

villages) including T.Bettahalli and Kurubalanahundi villages of B.Shettyhalli

Grama Panchayat of T.Narasipura Taluk of Mysore District mentioned in

Schedule-A along with the boundaries mentioned in Schedule-B as the

“Transitional Area of Talakadu” and further to specify as the “Town Panchayat

of Talakadu” and to constitute the ‘Town Panchayat’ to the said Transitional Area

with effect from the date of publishing this Notification in the Official Gazette

having regards to:

i. The population of such area is not less than ten thousand and not

more than Twenty thousand;

ii. The density of population in such area is not less than four hundred

inhabitants to one square kilometer of area;

iii. The percentage of employment in non-agricultural activities is not

less than fifty per cent of the total employment.

The notification is hereby published for the information of the Public. All

the persons, who would like to file any objection/suggestion to this Notification

are hereby required to submit the same with reasons in writing to the

Director, Directorate of Municipal Administration, 9^th Floor, V.V.Tower,

Bengaluru within 30 days from publication of this Notification in the Official

Gazette. Further, Notification will be taken up for final consideration after the

mentioned period of 30 days.

Panchayat revised boundary starting from point 'P' i.e. from the north-west corner of

S.No. 287 of T Bettahalli village, moving towards the north-east through the northern

boundary of R.S.No. 287, passing along the border of Mandya district, passing between

S.No. 283 and S.No. 243, Talakadu Malavalli main road, passing along S.No. 242, 241,

397, 239, moving towards the north-east, crossing the Kodagahalli road of Mandya

district on the foothills of Mudukuthore Mallikarjunaswamy temple, moving from

S.No. 236 and joining S.No. 224, 225 in the north-east direction. Then from the

northeast direction, moving towards the east through R.S.No.225, 350, 351, moving

along the middle border of S.No.136, 135, moving along the local road side via

Vijayapura, moving towards the south at S.No.131, 128, 127 of Kurabalanahundi

village, moving backwards (towards the west) at S.No. 88, 87, 86, moving towards

S.No. 152, 153, then moving towards the south, then passing through 170. 159, passing

through Madhava Mantri Canal on the edge of the Naala, moving towards Agnya on

the border of B.Shettyhalli (Kukkur village), moving towards S.No.262, 264, moving

towards S.No. 1114, 1115, moving along the edge of Madhava Mantri Canal and

reaching S.No. It meets at the source of the river Kaveri at the source and moves

southwards from the source of the Agnya and passes through R.S.No.1174, 1175

towards the south and passes through R.S.No.1172, 1244, 1278, 1289, 1294, 1337, and

meets at R.S.No.01 towards the south-west in the presence of the historical Talakadu

Sand mount and Panchalinga temples and then moves from the south-west

towards R.S.No. From 1, it passes in a northwesterly direction through S.No.218, 212,

211, 203, 202, Elleya S.No. of Vadeyandahalli village, then crosses the T.Narasipura

Talakadu main road and bridge, crosses the Madhava Mantri dam and canal of the

Kaveri river between S.No.192, 326 of Vadeyandahalli village, passes in a

northwesterly direction through S.No.125 of Vadeyandahalli village, passes through

S.No.355, 304, 303 of T.Bettahalli village, crosses the Mudukuthore Snana Ghatta,

moves in a northwesterly direction towards the north and merges at the northwest point

of this R.S.No. 287, i.e. at the 'P' point, which is the beginning of the revised boundary

of Talakadu Town Panchayat.
