THE KARNATAKA PORTS (LANDING AND SHIPPING FEES)

(AMENDMENT) ACT, 2025

(Received the assent of the Governor on the 09^th day of September, 2025)

An Act further to amend the Karnataka ports (Landing and Shipping Fees)

Act, 1961.

Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Karnataka Ports (Landing and

Shipping Fees) Act, 1961 (Karnataka Act 20 of 1961) for the purposes hereinafter

appearing:

Be it enacted by the Karnataka State Legislature in the seventy sixth year of

the Republic of India as follows:-

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the

Karnataka Ports (Landing and Shipping Fees)(Amendment) Act, 2025.

(2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by

notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.

2. Amendment of section 3.- In section 3 of the Karnataka Ports (Landing

and Shipping Fees) Act, 1961 (Karnataka Act 20 of 1961) (hereinafter referred to

as the Principal Act), in sub-section (1),-

(i) after the words "Fees at such rates and subject to such conditions", the

words "and to revise the fees at such intervals of time”, shall be inserted;

and

(ii) after the second proviso, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:-

"Provided also that, if fees are not revised at such intervals of time,

the Government may, by notification increase or decrease fees at such

percentage, considering the inflation and such other conditions as may

be prescribed.”

3. Amendment of section 10.- In the principal Act, in section 10, in

sub-section (1), the words, “After previous publication", shall be omitted.

1. ๸౾౹ಪ౨ ກಸฆ ಮൡ౨ ඩ౳ฏಭ.- (1) ಈ ಅඌඛಯಮವඝ౬ ಕකბಟಕ

ීದฆಗಳ (ಸರಕඝ౬ ಹಡಜඛಂದ ಇั๯ವ ಮൡ౨ ಹಡಜಡ ൡಂ්ವ ඹೕ೩ಗำ) (ൟൿ౪ಪല)

ಅඌඛಯಮ, 2025 ಎಂൿ ಕฉಯತಕౙൿ౪.

(2) ಇൿ ฃಜ౲ ಸ౽ბರโ ಸ౽ბค ฃಜ౲ಪತ౳ದย౵ ಅඌ๰ಚචಯ ෩ಲಕ

ತൡ౨ಪലಸಬ๾ർඈಥ ൽකಂಕඈൿ ೦คಡ ಬರತಕౙൿ౪.

2. ಪ౳ಕರಣ 3ರ ൟൿ౪ಪല.- ಕකბಟಕ ීದฆಗಳ (ಸರಕඝ౬ ಹಡಜඛಂದ ಇั๯ವ

ಮൡ౨ ಹಡಜಡ ൡಂ්ವ ඹೕ೩ಗำ) ಅඌඛಯಮ, 1961 (1961ರ ಕකბಟಕ ಅඌඛಯಮ 20)ರ

(ಇย౵ ಇඝ౬෨ಂං ෩ಲ ಅඌඛಯಮๅಂൿ ಉว౵ೕ಍ಸมಜං), 3ඡ ಪ౳ಕರಣದ, (1)ඡ

ಉಪ-ಪ౳ಕರಣದย౵,-

(i) “ಅಂಥ ದರಗಳย౵ ಮൡ౨ ಅಂಥ ಷರൡ౨ಗัಡ ಒಳಪഖౣ ඹೕ೩ಗಳඝ౬” ಎಂಬ ಪದಗಳ

ತฆ฿ಯ “ಮൡ౨ ಅಂಥ ಸಮಯದ ಮಧ౲ಂತರ ಅವඌಗಳย౵ ඹೕ೩ಗಳඝ౬ ಪคಷౙคಸฤ”

ಎಂಬ ಪದವඝ౬ ๳คಸತಕౙൿ౪;

(ii) ಎರಡඡ ಪฏൡಕದ ತฆ฿ಯ, ಈ ෨ಂൽನ ಪฏൡಕವඝ౬ ๳คಸತಕౙൿ౪,

ಎಂದฉ:-

”ಅಲ౵ං ಪฏൡ ඛಯ෦ಸಬ๾ർඈಥ ಸಮಯದ ಮಧ౲ಂತರ ಅವඌಯย౵

ඹೕ೩ಗಳඝ౬ ಪคಷౙคಸൽದ౪ฉ, ฃಜ౲ ಸ౽ბರโ, ಅඌ๰ಚචಯ ෩ಲಕ ಹಣൿಬ౯ರ

ಮൡ౨ ಇತರ ಷರൡ౨ಗಳඝ౬ ಪคಗ൐๭ ಅಂಥ ๕ಕಡ฿ฆ ඹೕ೩ಗಳඝ౬ ກ೉౞ಸಬ๾ൿ

ಅಥ฿ ಕല෫ ෥ಡಬ๾ൿ”.

3. ಪ౳ಕರಣ 10ರ ൟൿ౪ಪല.- ෩ಲ ಅඌඛಯಮದ, 10ඡ ಪ౳ಕರಣದ, (1)ඡ

ಉಪಪ౳ಕರಣದย౵, “තವბ ಪ౳ಕಟൕಯ ತฆ฿ಯ” ಎಂಬ ಪದಗಳඝ౬ ෈ഖౣ෈ಡತಕౙൿ౪;

The above translation of the Karnataka Ports (Landing and Shipping

Fees)(Amendment) Act, 2025 (Karnataka Act 46 of 2025) shall be an

authoritative text in Kannada language under section 6 of the Kannada

Language Comprehensive Development Act, 2022 (Karnataka Act No. 13 of

2023).
