NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 28, and read with section 11A of the Legal

Services Authorities Act, 1987 (Central Act 39 of 1987) read with Section 21 of the General Clauses

Act, 1897 (Central Act 10 of 1897) and in consultation with Chief Justice of the High Court of

Karnataka, the Government of Karnataka hereby makes the following rules further to amend the

Karnataka State Legal Services Authorities Rules, 1996 namely:-

Rules

1. Title and commencement:- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka State Legal Services

Authorities (Amendment) Rules, 2021.

(2) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the official Gazette.

2. Amendment of Chapter XVII:- In the Karnataka State Legal Services Authorities Rules 1996, in

rule 8, in sub-rule (1),

(i) for the words “the State Government”, the words “State Authority”, shall be

substituted.

(ii) in item 1, for the words “Senior Civil Judge working”, the words, “Senior Most

Judicial Officer Operating”, shall be substituted.
