NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by the Section-3 read with section-9, 355,

357, 359, 360 and 361 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964 the present Town

Municipal Area of Athani of Belagavi District is proposed to be notified as the “Smaller

Urban Area” as mentioned in the Schedule “A” along with boundaries mentioned in

the Schedule “B” and further to be declared as the “City Municipal Council of Athani”

and constitute the City Municipal Council to the said smaller urban area with effect

from the date of publishing this Notification in the Official Gazette by His Excellency,

the Governor of Karnataka for the purpose of administration having regard to:

i. The population of such area is not less than fifty thousand;

ii. The density of population in such area is not less than one thousand five

hundred inhabitants to one square kilo meter of area;

iii.

The revenue generated for local administration from such area from tax and

non-tax sources in the year of the last preceding census is not less than rupees

nine lakhs per annum or a sum calculated at the rate of rupees forty-five per

capita per annum, whichever is higher;

iv. The percentage of employment in non-agricultural activities is not less

than fifty per cent of the total employment.

The notification is hereby published for the information of the Public. All the

persons who would like to file any objection/suggestion to this Notification are hereby

required to submit the same with reasons in writing to the Director, Directorate of

Municipal Administration, 9^th Floor, V.V.Tower, Bengaluru within 30 days from

publication of this Notification in the Official Gazette. Further, Notification will be

taken up for final consideration after the mentioned period of 30 days.

S.No.1983 of Athani Town at point "A" of the boundary on the boundary

extension of Athani Municipality and upgradation to Municipal Council.

Starting at the north-west corner, moving towards the north-east through the northern

boundary of S.No.1981, ending at the north-east corner of S.No.1980, 1979, 2002,

2003, 2104. Then there is Survey No. 2104 from the north-east corner of No. 32

west village road boundary moving to Kashmir, the north-west corner of Survey

No. 32 Kalamutrade. No. 32, 30, 29, moving north-east direction through north wing

of No. 32. 28,27,26, crossing the Abbala village road and meeting the north-east corner

of survey no.141. Then there is survey 0.1440 moving southwards through the east

boundary, survey no.1440 then reaches the corner. It is from the corner of Survey No.

Agni and moves north-eastwards through the northern boundary of Survey No. 154

and reaches the North-Eastern corner of Survey Nos. 153, 152, 151. There is survey

no. 151 passes through East Village Boundary: Crosses Belgaum District Main Road

and reaches North West corner of Survey No.205, passes North boundary of Survey

No.205 and reaches North East corner of Survey No.2050, then Sarva No.2050.

From the north-east corner, moving north through the west boundary of survey no.201,

it reaches the north-west corner of survey no.201. And then it reaches the north-east

corner through the northern boundary of Sarva No.2004.

Moving southward through the eastern boundary of Survey No. 204, it reaches

the north-west corner of Sarva No. 203. Moving north-eastward through the

northern boundary of Survey No. 203, it reaches the southern corner of Survey No.

200 of Survey No. 21, 20, 200. Thence crossing the village road and proceeding

north-east through the northern boundary of Survey No.345, crossing the Chitra

Jamboti State Highway and reaching the south-west corner of Survey No.346, passing

south along the western boundary of Survey No.346 and joining the upper corner of

Survey No.346,from the northern corner of Survey No.346. Moving north-eastward

through north of survey no.351, north of survey no.352, 353: corner. It runs from the

northern corner of Survey No. 353 through Uttargadi in a north-easterly direction and

reaches the north-eastern corner of Survey No. 353. There is Survey No. 353: Moving

southward through the eastern boundary, it reaches the southern corner of Survey No.

353.

From the south corner of Survey No. 53, Survey No. 1516 runs south to

Roorwagadi and reaches the south corner of Survey No. 31. Norway Co. 510 from the

south corner of Survey No. 347 runs south through Sarwagadi and reaches the corner

of Survey No. 349, 365, 369. It crosses the district main road from Athani to Chamakeri

from the corner of Survey No. 369 and reaches the upper corner of Survey No. 100.

It runs south through the eastern boundary of survey no.400 and reaches the

middle corner of the northern boundary of survey no.401. There is Survey No. 1010

Utsaragadi: Moving towards North East direction it reaches the North East corner of

Survey No. 1100. This survey no.410: From the north-east corner of survey no. 14

running in a north-easterly direction reaches the north-east corner of survey no.414. It

runs north-east from the north-east corner of survey no.14 through the north boundary

of 120 and reaches the north-east corner of survey no.420. It runs south through the

eastern boundary of Survey No. 421 and reaches the north-central corner of Survey No.

421. It runs through the north of Survey No. 4216 and reaches the North-Eastern corner

of Survey No. 421. Moving south through the eastern boundary of Survey No. 421, it

crosses the corner to Survey No. 421. Then it moves north-east through the northern

boundary of survey do 5728 from the then corner of No.121 and reaches the north-east

corner of survey no.572. It runs from the north-east corner of survey no.572 through

the north boundary of survey no.566 and reaches the north-east corner of survey

no.566. There is survey no. From the north-east corner of 566, survey no.50 runs south

through the east boundary and reaches the north-west corner of survey no.5670. Survey

No.5676 moves north-eastwards through the north boundary from the north-west

corner and reaches the north-east corner of survey no.567.

From the north-east corner of survey no.567 moving south through the eastern

Hulagabali and including the road and joining the south-west corner of survey

no:11270. There is survey no. 1427 runs north through the western boundary crossing

the state highway from Ainapur towards Athani and joins the north-west corner of

survey no.1612. It crosses the village road from Ainapur towards Athani from the

north-west corner of survey no.1612 and joins the south-west corner of survey

no.16620 including the road. It is' from the south-west corner of survey no.1662

moving northwards through the western boundary, the north-west corner of survey

no.1663, 104, 1659, 1658 from the north-west corner of survey no.1658 crossing the

Miraja Athani National Highway and joining the north-west corner through the western

boundary of survey no.1921. IRDA SURVEY NO. 1921 north-west corner through

northern border to 1920 south-west corner. There is survey no. 1920 running

northwards through the western boundary and joining the north-west corner of Survey

No.1919, 1918, 1917, crossing the road including the District Main Road from

Masaraguppi towards Athani and joining the south-west corner of Survey No.1983. It

runs from the south-west corner of Survey No.1983 through the eastern boundary to

the north-west corner of 1983. Athani Nagar Sabha, at the point of commencement of

the proposed boundary i.e. north-west corner of Survey No.1983 of the town of Athani.
