NOTIFICATION

Whereas the draft of the Karnataka State Administrative Services

(Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2025 was published as required by clause (a) of

sub-section (2) of section 3 read with section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services

Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990), in Notification No. DPAR 103 SKT 2025,

dated:23.12.2025 in Part IV A of the Karnataka Gazette Extraordinary No. 830,

dated: 23.12.2025 inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be

effected thereby within fifteen days from the date of its publication in the official

Gazette.

And whereas the said Gazette was made available to public on 23.12.2025.

And whereas no objections and suggestions received in this behalf by the

Government.

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section

3 read with section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka

Act 14 of 1990), the Government of Karnataka hereby make the following rules,

namely:-

RULES

1. Title and Commencement: (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka

State Administrative Services (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2025.

(2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the

Official Gazette.

2. Amendment of the Schedule.- In the Karnataka State Administrative

Services (Recruitment) Rules, 1957, in the Schedule, in the category of post of ‘KAS

(Selection Grade)’, at serial number (a3), in column (4), the following shall be

inserted at the end, namely:-

“Provided that, as one time measure from the date of commencement of the

Karnataka State Administrative Services (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2025

must have put in a total service of not less than eight years in the cadre KAS (Senior

Scale) and KAS Group-A (Junior Scale) of which not less than two years shall be in

the cadre of KAS (Senior Scale)”.

Note:- On completion of the one time process from the date of

commencement of the Karnataka State Administrative Services (Recruitment)

(Amendment) Rules, 2025 for promotion to the post specified in the column (2), the

provisions of the Karnataka State Administrative Services (Recruitment)

(Amendment) Rules, 2025 shall cease to operate.
