NOTIFICATION
1.
In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 29 of the Greater Bengaluru
Governance Act, 2024, the delimitation of 63 wards of newly established Bengaluru
Central City Corporation in the Greater Bengaluru area was published vide
Government Notification No: UDD 289 BBS 2025 dated 19-11-2025 and Government
Amendment Notification No. UDD 289 BBS 2025, dated 01-12-2025.

In exercise of the powers conferred under sub-sections (3) and (4) of Section 29
of the Greater Bengaluru Governance Act, 2024 and in accordance with the guidelines
issued vide Government Order No.: UDD 240 BBS 2025, dated: 19-12-2025 and on
the basis of the 2011 Census, draft ward-wise reservation of 63 wards of Bengaluru
Central City Corporation of Greater Bengaluru area was published in Government
Notification No.: UDD 16 BBS 2026, dated: 08-01-2026 which was inturn published
in the Karnataka Special Gazette, Part-3, Issue-40 dated: 08-01-2026 for the
information of the public, inviting suggestions/objections in this regard to be submitted
within 15 (fifteen) days from the date of publication of the notification, i.e. before
5.30PM of 23-01-2026 and the Gazette was made available to the public on the date
of its publication.

All the suggestions/objections received by the Government regarding the draft
reservation of wards of the Bengaluru Central City Corporation were submitted before
the Review Committee, constituted under the chairmanship of the Additional Chief
Secretary to the Government, Urban Development Department vide Government
Notification No. UDD 240 BBS 2025, dated: 24-09-2025, in the meeting held on
17-02-2026. The Committee has thoroughly examined all the suggestions/objections
as per the Greater Bengaluru Governance Act, 2024 and Guidelines issued vide
Government Order No. UDD 240 BBS 2025, dated:19-12-2025 and observed that
some of the suggestions/objections are justified, made some changes accordingly, and
prepared the final reservation for 63 wards of the Bengaluru Central City Corporation.
After ensuring that the reservation list thus prepared has maintained the quota of
Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and Women's reservation and
General (non-reserved) seats as per the guidelines, the Committee has recommended
the final reservation list to the Government.

The Government has accepted the recommendations made by the Scrutiny
Committee. By exercising the powers conferred under sub-sections (3) and (4) of
section 29 of the Greater Bengaluru Governance Act, 2024 and in accordance with the
guidelines provided in Government Order No: UDD 240 BBS 2025, dated: 19-12-2025
and based on the 2011 Census, the final ward-wise reservation for 63 wards in
Bengaluru Central City corporation of Greater Bengaluru area, is finalized and hereby
notified.

In respect of Bengaluru Central City Corporation, the final details of numbers of
wards reservation are published in Kannada and English languages in Annexure-1 and
Annexure-2 respectively. Total number of wards is mentioned in Column 1 of the table
and Columns 2,3,4,5 and 6 of the table are reservation numbers of Scheduled Caste,
Scheduled Tribe, Backward “A” Category and Backward “B” Category and General
Category respectively and the numbers mentioned in brackets are the seats reserved for
women out of the seats of each category.

In respect of Bengaluru Central City Corporation, the final ward-wise
reservation is published in Kannada and English languages respectively in
Annexure-3 and Annexure-4, in which the number and name of the concerned
assembly constituency is mentioned in Column-2, the number and name of the ward in
Column-3 and the Final ward-wise reservation in Column-4.
