The tender for pre-qualification and execution of the

following work is invited from financially sound and well

experienced Registered “A” Class Contractors/Firms of

Kerala Public Works Department/Irrigation who have

successfully completed at least one similar work costing

more than 40% (forty percentage) of the estimate P. A. C.

of work during the last five years. The application for

tender schedule should supported by certificate of prior

experience in work as mentioned above obtained from

agreement authority and tender schedule will be issued

only to those who satisfy this condition. Necessary

certificate in this effect shall be produced from the officers

concerned not below the rank of Executive Engineer.

Tenders should be submitted so as to reach the

undersigned on or before date and time prescribed for

each work as below by Registered Post/Speed Post. The

that Boat Crew Test under Travancore and Cochin Canal

rules will be conducted at the following Centers on the

QUALIFICATION, EXAMINATION FEE ETC.

A. Boat Master Test

1. Must be above to read and write Malayalam or

English.

2. Must not be less than 24 years of age on 20-11-2009.

3. Must have served as an Apprentice Master Trainee

in any motor boat for 3 years and must have

completed one year probation as per the

probationary licence.

4. Application fee Rs. 15.

5. Conduct Certificate.

6. Two recent passport size photographs with signature

on it.

Boat Driver Test

1. Must not be less than 21 years of age on 20-11-2009.

2. Must have served as an Apprentice Boat Driver

Trainee for two years and must have completed one

year probation as per probationary licence.

3. Application fee Rs. 12.

4. Conduct Certificate.

5. Two recent passport size photographs with signature

on it.

6. A Medical Certficate as to the applicant’s physical

fitness certificate issued by a Registered Medical

Practitioner not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon/

A Class Medical Practitioner.

Boat Syrang Test

1. Must not be less than 21 years of age on 20-11-2009.

2. Must have served as an Apprentice Syrang Trainee

for two years and must have completed one year

probation as per probationary licence.

3. Application fee Rs. 12.

4. Two recent passport size photographs with signature

on it.

5. Conduct Certificate.

Boat Lascar Test

1. Must not be less than 21 years of age on 20-11-2009.

2. Must have served as an Apprentice for one year by

Deckmen/Polemen/Lascar in any fishing boat/

country boat/motor boat respectively.

3. Application fee Rs. 6.

4. Conduct Certificate.

5. Two recent passport size photographs with signature

on it.

6. Colour test to distinguish different colours used in

the Inland Navigation purpose.

GENERAL

1. To Prove the date of birth, the applicant must submit

true copy of the relevant school certificate/extract of

admission register attested by a Gazetted Officer.

2. Service Certificate in original issued by the owner of

the boat with current ‘D’ form certificate clearly

stating the name, Register number and the date of

commencement of training to prove the satisfactory

completion of training required for each category

should be submitted along with the application.

3. Original Conduct Certificate issued by MPs/MLAs/

Head of Local bodies/High School Headmasters/

Gazetted Officers should be submitted.

4. The Examination fee must be submitted in this office

or the office of the Inspector of Boats, Alappuzha.

5. The probationary licence must be attached to the

application for Master/Driver/Syrang etc.

6. Application should be made in the prescribed form

No. ‘G’ annexed to this notification with all

testimonials required.

7. If the candidate’s service is insufficient or if this

testimonials do not in other respects fulfill the

requirements of the rules, he shall be examined

without payment of the additional fees.

8. Practical test for Master/Syrang/Driver will be

conducted in boat having in board Engine with

separate syrang’s cabin and it should be produced

by the candidates themselves to their own cost at

the time of the test. Practical test for lascars will be

conducted in any backwaters near the examination

centers and the candidates should bring suitable

swimming dress.

Application in complete shape should be sent in the

Station, Kakkanadu, Cochin-30 and should reach this

Office on or before 5 p. m. on 20th November 2009.

Eligible candidates will be intimated from this Office

regarding the place, date and time of examination in due

course. If anybody does not receive any information from

this Office till 5-12-2009 such candidates should contact

this Office to ascertain the position of their application.
