ORDER

As per the G.O. read as first paper above Government have issued orders

appointing Dr. B. Ekbal as Chairman (Part time) of the Kerala State Pollution

Control Board. As per the G.O. read as 2nd and 3rd papers above Government

have issued orders reconstituting the Kerala State Pollution Control Board with

Dr. B. Ekbal as Chairman (Part time). As per the G.O. read as 4th paper above

Government have issued orders relieving Dr. B. Ekbal from the post of Chairman

(Part time) of Kerala State Pollution Control Board. As per the G. O. read as 5th

paper above Government have issued orders appointing Shri S. D. Jeyaprasad as

Chairman (full time) of Kerala State Pollution Control Board for a period of one

year from the date of his taking charge and he has assumed charge as Chairman

of the Board in the F. N. of 31-8-2009. So the Board has to be reconstituted with

Shri S. D. Jeyaprasad as Chairman and also with the existing members.

In the Board reconstituted as per the G.O.’s read as 2nd and 3rd papers

above Head of Department of Environmental Engineering, College of Engineering,

Thiruvananthapuram was included as member of the Board under section 4 (2) (b)

of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974. It is now reported that

there is no separate Department of Environmental Engineering in the College of

Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram and the faculty in Civil Engineering Department

is handling the course work in Environmental Engineering. Under the

circumstances Smt. D. Thankamoney, Asst. Prof., Department of Civil

Engineering, College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram is nominated as a

member of the Kerala State Pollution Control Board under section 4 (2)(b) of the

Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 in lieu of Head of the

Department of Environmental Engineering, nominated earlier, vide Government

Orders read as 2nd and 3rd papers above. Smt. D. Thankamoney will hold office

of as a member of the Kerala State Pollution Control Board in ex-officio capacity,

till she continues to be in Government service or a period of three years from

28-2-2009 (i.e. the date of the G. O. reconstructing the Board), whichever is earlier.

In the circumstances explained above Government are pleased to issue

modified orders reconstituting the Kerala State Pollution Control Board with

Shri S. D. Jeyaprasad as Chairman and also with the following existing members,

mentioning the relevant sections of the Water (Prevention and Control of

Pollution) Act 1974 under which each member is included in the Board.
