NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by Section

13 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Central

Act 2 of 1974) the High Court of Kerala hereby

(i)

confers upon Sri V. P. Sudhakaran, ‘Sudha’,

Mayanad, Kozhikode-673 008, all the powers

conferred on a Magistrate of Second Class

under the said Code in regard to the cases

generally arising in the corporation area of

Kozhikode District and empowers to try such

cases sitting singly in the said area;

(ii)

appoints the said Sri V. P. Sudhakaran as

Honorary Special Judicial Magistrate of

Second Class, Kozhikode for a period of one

year with effect from the date of assumption

of charge till 2-11-2013 and;

(iii)

further confers upon him, under Section 261

of the said Code, the power to try summarily

the offences set out earlier.

Ernakulam District-682 304 all the powers

conferred upon a Magistrate of the Second

Class under the said Code in regard to the

cases generally arising in the corporation area

of Ernakulam District and empowers him to

try such cases sitting singly in the said area;

(ii)

Appoints the said Sri T. B. Sudhakaran as

Honorary Special Judicial Magistrate of

Second Class, Ernakulam for a period of one

year with effect from the date of assumption

of charge as such, till 16-10-2013;

(iii)

Further confers upon him under Section 261

of the said Code, the powers to try summarily

the offences set out earlier.

As per the paper cited, the Hon’ble High Court has directed the undersigned to issue necessary notification to

vest the jurisdiction of newly established Ayroor Police Station with the Judicial I Class Magistrate Court-I, Varkala.

Hence this notification is issued accordingly.

In exercise of power conferred under section 14(1) of Criminal Procedure Code, 1973, the Chief Judicial

Magistrate, Thiruvananthapuram hereby defines the area shown in Column No. 4 in respect of the offences in Column No. 5

of the schedule, to be the local limits within the Magistrate mentioned in Column No. 2 may exercise the powers with

which the Magistrate has been invested under the said Code.

1973 (Act 2 of 1974), the Chief Judicial Magistrate,

Kozhikode is hereby specifically empowers the person

appointed by the Hon’ble High Court of Kerala as

Honorary Special Judicial Magistrate of Second Class,

Kozhikode, whose name is shown under Column I of the

schedule given under to take cognizance u/s 190 (1) of

the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973 of such offences

which are within their competence to enquire into or try

for a period of one year with effect from assumption of

the charge till 2-11-2013.
