The Superintending Engineer, Kuttanad Development

Circle, Chengannur, for and on behalf of the Governor of

Kerala invites bids for Pre-qualification and competitive

tenders for award of the following centrally sponsored

works in separate sealed covers from Registered ‘A’ Class

Contractors/Firms of Irrigation Department/PWD who are

financially stable. The estimate is prepared as per Schedule

of Rates 2012.

Intending Contractors/Firms should have previous

experience of completing at least one work having

magnitude of Estimate PAC of 520 Lakhs or above

within the last five years.

CONDITIONS

(1)

Registered “A” Class Contractors/Firms in

Irrigation/KPWD who have experience in

carrying out large works and who consider

themselves capable of carrying out these type

of works may obtain Pre-qualification

documents and tender documents from the

office of the undersigned on any working day

between 11 a. m. and 4 p. m. from 10-1-2013 to

15-1-2013 on payment of 25,000 + VAT in

cash directly. Those who require further copies

of the documents may deposit 12,500 + VAT

for each additional copy.

Prospective Contractors/Firms should have

completed at least one work in the

Government sector with estimate PAC as

specified in the tender notice. A certificate to

this effect from the agreement executing

authority shall be enclosed along with the

application for pre-qualification documents

and tender documents, failing which

pre-qualification documents will not be issued

to him/them (Applicant). (Applications without

this certificate will not be considered). The

contractors/firms should attach an affidavit

along with the pre-qualification documents

stating that whether or not any works carried

out by him/they were terminated due to his/

their fault so far. Documents showing the

ownership of the essential plants, machineries

required for the work is to be submitted along

with the pre-qualification documents.

The pre-qualification documents and tender

documents will not be issued after 4 p. m. on

15-1-2013 under any circumstances. The duly

filled up pre-qualification documents (3 Nos.)

along with EMD and preliminary agreement, in

one sealed cover and tender for work in

another sealed cover, writing clearly over the

cover specifying whether it contains

pre-qualification documents or tender documents

with name of bidder and name of work and

then enclosing these two covers in a single

cover duly superscribing the name of work and

the name of contractor and shall be send by

registered post so as to reach the office of the

undersigned before 4 p. m. on 21-1-2013. The

pre-qualification documents and tender

documents received after the time notified

above will not be considered under any

circumstances. The tenders received after the

stipulated date and time due to postal delays,

tender through courier service or directly will

not be accepted. The undersigned reserves

the right to deny pre-qualification to any of the

applicants and to reject the tender submitted by

any of the applicant without assigning any

reason thereto. If the last date of receipt of

the tender happens to be a holiday, tenders will

be received upto the stipulated time on

the next working day. Preliminary agreement on

The pre-qualification documents alone will be

opened at 4.30 p. m. on 21-1-2013. After

evaluation of pre-qualification documents in the

office of the undersigned, the same will be

submitted to the Chief Engineer, Irrigation and

Administration for approval and final selection

by the Pre-qualification Committee of Chief

Engineer's. Only those tenders, submitted by

the Contractors/Firms who are pre-qualified by

the Chief Engineer’s Committee shall be opened

and scrutinized later on.Tenders of contractors/

firms who have not been pre-qualified will be

summarily rejected without opening the

tenders and will be returned to the tenderers

on proper receipt.

of Contractors/Firms who are pre-qualified will

be intimated to the concerned in advance.

Besides Security Deposit, 10% Bank Guarantee

should be submitted by the selected bidder at

regarding pre-qualification bids and tenders for

works will be applicable to this tender also.

The Superintending Engineer, Kuttanad Development

Circle, Kottayam on behalf of the Governor of Kerala

invites competitive tenders in sealed covers superscribing

the name of work from Contractors registered in Kerala

PWD/Irrigation Department having ‘A’ Class for the work

mentioned below.

Tender form will be issued and received as detailed

below. Tenders will be received by Registered Post/Speed

Post only. Tenders submitted directly or by courier service

will be rejected. The tenders received after the stipulated

date and time due to postal delays or any other reason

will not be considered.

Tenders will be opened by the Superintending

Engineer or the Officer authorized by him in the presence

of the tenderers or their authorized agents present at that

time. If the last date of receipt of tender happens to be

holiday, tenders will be received and opened on the next

working day. The firm period of the tenders will be

4 months from the date of receipt of the tender.

Tender documents and other details of tenders can

be obtained from the office of the undersigned. Tender

documents sold to one party are not transferable to

another. Written application quoting registration number

and registration card should be produced for obtaining

the tender forms. Tenders should be enclosed with a

preliminary agreement in prescribed format in stamp paper

worth 100 and a sufficient EMD of 50,000 pledged in

favour of the Superintending Engineer, Kuttanad

Development Circle, Kottayam. Tenders without sufficient

EMD and preliminary agreement will be summarily

rejected. As per 1989 Kerala Construction Workers

Welfare Fund Rule (2), the contractor is liable to remit 1%

of the total expenditure of work done towards the KCWW

Fund.
