It is hereby notified that the following amendments
to Statute 25,37 and 45 of Chapter II ‘Officers of the
University’, Statute 5 of Chapter XII ‘Faculties’, Statute 3
of Chapter XIII ‘Boards of Studies’, Statute 7 (iii) of
Chapter XIV ‘Faculty of Humanities’, Statute 5 (3) of
Chapter XV ‘Faculty of Science’, Statute 6 (4) Chapter
XVII ‘Faculty of Language & Literature (Including
English)’, Statute 5 (3) of Chapter XVIII ‘Faculty of Fine
Arts’, Statute 5 (iii) of Chapter XIX ‘Faculty of Commerce
& Management Studies’ and Statute 5 (3) of Chapter XXI
‘Faculty of Education’ of the Kannur University First
Statutes 1998 was approved by the Syndicate at its
meeting held on 3-8-2011 and 22-10-2011, has been
assented by the Chancellor vide Lr. No. GS5-546/2013
dated 7th May, 2013.
Amendment No. 1
Amendment to Statute 25, Chapter II ‘Officers of the
University’ of the Kannur University First Statutes-1998
That the existing provision in Statutes 25 ‘Age of
retirement’ in Chapter II- ‘Officers of the University’ of
the Kannur University First Statutes, 1998 is amended as
follows:
Amended Statute
25. Age of Retirement:-
The Registrar shall retire from the service of the
University on the day of retirement as stipulated vide the
Rules in KSR and also based on the amendments and
Government Orders issued in this regard from time to time.
Amendment No. 2
Amendment to Statute 37, Chapter II ‘Officers of the
University’ of the Kannur University First Statutes-1998
That the existing provision in Statutes 37
‘Superannuation’ in Chapter II- ‘Officers of the
University’ of the Kannur University First Statutes, 1998 is
amended as follows:
Amended Statute
37. Superannuation:-
The Controller of Examinations shall retire from the
service of the University on the day of retirement as
stipulated vide the Rules in KSR and also based on the
amendments and Government Orders issued in this regard
from time to time.
Amendment No. 3
Amendment to Statute 45, Chapter II ‘Officers
of the University’ of the Kannur University
First Statutes-1998
That the existing provision in Statutes 45
‘Superannuation’ in Chapter II- ‘Officers of the
University’ of the Kannur University First Statutes, 1998 is
amended as follows:
Amended Statute
45. Superannuation:-
The Finance Officer shall retire from the service
of the University on the day of retirement as stipulated
vide the Rules in KSR and also based on the amendments
and Government Orders issued in this regard from time
to time.
Amendment No. 4
Amendment to Statute 5, Chapter XII ‘Faculties’ of the
Kannur University First Statutes-1998
That the existing provision in Statutes 5
‘Reconstitution’ in Chapter XII-‘Faculties’ of the Kannur
University First Statutes, 1998 is amended as follows:
Amended Statute
5. Reconstitution:-
Each Faculty shall be reconstituted in every 4 years.
Every member of the Faculty shall hold office until the
next reconstitution of the Faculty.

Amendment to Statute 3, Chapter XIII
‘Boards of Studies’ of the Kannur
University First Statutes-1998
That the existing provision in Statutes 3
‘Reconstitution of the Board of Studies’ in Chapter XIII-
‘Boards of Studies’ of the Kannur University First
Statutes,1998 is amended as follows:
Amended Statute
3. Reconstitution of the Board of Studies:-
The Boards of Studies shall be reconstituted once in
two years.

Amendment to Statute 7(iii), Chapter XIV ‘Faculty of
Humanities’ (Including Philosophy) of the Kannur
University First Statutes- 1998
That the existing provision in Statutes 7(iii) in
Chapter XIII-‘Faculty of Humanities’ (including
Philosophy) of the Kannur University First Statutes, 1998
is amended as follows:

The application for registration as a research
student and as a candidate for the Ph.D. Degree shall be
made to the Registrar on or before 15th July of every year
in the prescribed form, and shall be accompanied
