Whereas, the Commission had announced the schedule for Special

Summary Revision of electoral rolls with reference to 1st January, 2016 as the

qualifying date in this State of Kerala, with the period for filing claims and

objections being from 15th November, 2015 to 30th November, 2015; and

Whereas, a request for extension of the period for filing claims and

objections by two weeks was received in the Commission from political parties

and stake holders on the ground that local body elections intervened in the

period prescribed by the Commission for filing claims/objections and so the

political parties could not concentrate in the revision exercise; and

Whereas, the Commission has considered the matter and has accepted the

aforesaid request;

Now, therefore, the Election Commission, in exercise of the power conferred

by proviso to Rule 12 of Registration of Electors Rules, 1960, extends for all

Assembly Constituencies in^., Kerala State, the period for filing claims and

objections upto 14th December, 2015 for the ongoing Special Revision of

electoral rolls.
