In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 11 (3)

of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973, the High Court

of Kerala hereby appoint the persons mentioned in

Column (2) of the following Schedule to be Judicial

Magistrate of the First Class to preside over the Courts

specified against their names in Column (3) from the

dates they take charge and empowers them to try, in a

summary way, all the offences mentioned in Sub Section (1)

of Section 260 of Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.

jurisdiction—Notification issued.

Read:—Notification No. B4(A)-113479/2018 dated 10-1-2020 the Hon’ble High Court of Kerala.

In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 14 (1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973

(Central Act 2 of 1974), the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kozhikode, hereby defines the area specified under Column II of

the schedule shown hereunder be the local area with which the Magistrate mentioned under Column I of the Schedule

may exercise all any of the powers with which he has been invested by the Hon’ble High Court of Kerala and the

Criminal Procedure Code for a period of one year with effect from 23-1-2020.

Read:—Notification No. B4(A)-113479/2018 dated 10-1-2020 the Hon’ble High Court of Kerala.

In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 2 of Section 190 of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973

(Central Act 2 of 1974), the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kozhikode, hereby specifically empowers the person appointed by

the Hon’ble High Court of Kerala as Honorary Special Judicial Magistrate of Second Class (Railway), Kozhikode as per

the Notification read above, whose name is mentioned under Column I of the Schedule shown below for a period of

one year with effect from 23-1-2020 to take cognizance of those offences U/s 190(1) of the Criminal Procedure Code

which are within his competence to inquire into or try and which are shown under Column II of the said schedule.

(a) Upon receiving a complaint of facts which constitutes such offences.

(b) Upon a Police report of such case.

(c) Upon information received from any person, other than a Police Officer or upon his own knowledge, that

such offence has been committed.
